This week at the Lawnscaping Challenge blog, we are to follow this sketch.

I used the Lawn Fawn stamp set Critters on the Farm, and used the hay bale and sentiment. I stamped the bales, and cut them out, and arranged them in a pinwheel type pattern. I think it's quite cute, and can be sent to anyone for any occasion! Papers are from Pink Paislee, and Lily Bee Design, inks are Ranger DI. I made this cute bow from Emily's tutorial here. I don't have the Bow Easy, I just wrapped the twine around my fingers! Worked pretty well! Thanks Emily for showing us! Hello all, thanks for taking the time to pop in today! I have made this card for the Chick Challenges {with ippity}. This week we are following a sketch from Sarah! I have used the ippity set Sweet Thoughts of Spring, and made the background with the flower stamp and white pigment ink. Stamped the sentiment with Evergreen Bough DI, and punched it out. It's time for the linky party at the Unity blog for Friends With Flair! This is the card that I showed in my video a few posts below. The heart pick was stamped from the ippity set Loads of Love with Walnut Stain Distress ink, and I sponged the edges with Ripe Persimmon DI. All the papers are from the Authentique Gathering collection. I cut 3 of the flowers out and added them to the card front. The sentiment is from the ippity set The Simple Things, and I punched it out with an EK Success label punch. My first DT post is not for a few weeks, but I am joining my other teamies with the challenge that is going on now which is Music. I finished another mini album page(except for adding a pic!). A Card For Me

I've been struggling with headaches everyday now for about 3 weeks. And today, this one just won't go away. I went into my craft space to try and take my mind off the pain, and realized I haven't entered the Chick Challenges With {ippity} yet this week! So I made a card following their sketch, and when I went to decide on the sentiment, I thought a Get Well one was fitting. For me anyway! The challenge theme this time over at the Unity Opportunity blog is CAS. So I got out my ippity stamps and made a quick anniversary card. I used 2 stamp sets, Just wanted to Say, and The Simple Things. I used Stampin Up markers on the flowers and stems, and the sentiment I inked with Gathered Twigs DI. Happy Friday! It's time for Unity's FWF! I got a head start this time around, and made this tag last night. I used the Simple Stories itty bitty Year o graphy Best Day. I masked off the calender and inked around it, love how it pops off the tag! I just wish my picture taking skills were just as good! I have a nice Nikon camera, but just can't get a good pic, there are so many settings on the thing, it drives me crazy!! Anyway, The stamped flowers and sentiment are from the ippity line, and the punched flowers have two coats of UTEE on them. I'll keep this tag for my Mom's birthday. A Scene

This is my first real attempt at making a scene on a card. I've seen some really cute one's around blogland, and thought I'd give it a try. Over at the Lawnscaping Challenge, the theme is distress mania. To distress your project any way to see fit. Mine is done with inks. Every image I used Distress Inks on, and the blue card base is distressed as well. Lawnscaping Challenge is based on Lawn Fawn Stamps, but not required to enter. I used 5 different Lawn Fawn sets on my little scenery card. Critters in the Forest, Critters on the Farm, Critters in the Snow, Bannerific, and Jessie's ABC's. It was really fun cutting out all the little animals and arranging them. Everything is stamped on patterned paper except the banner. Check out the link above if you'd like to join in the fun! It's a Sketch

I'm following a sketch challenge over at Chick Challenges with Ippity. If you check out their blog, Kim has made a lovely gift bag from this sketch, which you can see below. I went with a card, and made the top by tracing a Top Note die cut onto the front, and used my craft knife to cut it out. I used two ippity sets for the stamping, Sing a New Song, and How You Doin? You can't really tell in the pic, but the stamped scallops are embossed in clear powder, and I used Wild Honey ink. I tried to get the top matched up, so I cut a circle in half and added some twine. Not too bad! And the weather here today is very dark and dreary, so I couldn't get a real good picture. Plus I need a tripod because my hands shake so much! Hope it will do! Thanks for looking in!

My Little Guy LO

I have not done a scrapbook LO for awhile now, and the challenge at the Authentique blog kick started me to get one finished! You'll see the sketch to follow below, and I love scrapbook sketches. It helps me with the design. I find that I take too long deciding on where to put photos, titles, etc., so this helps me soo much! All the papers came from the Authentique Journey 6x6 pad, and I stamped the top of the page with some cute Stampabilities stamps with Antique Linen DI, and I also stamped the dump truck with Walnut Stain DI onto more patterned paper. A cute button and a title sticker, and done! One more page done, 100's more to do!!

So This Is L.O.V.E.

Well, it doesn't really look like your typical theme for love, but over at the Unity Opportunity blog they have a challenge going on to celebrate the new Ippity stamp releases. The challenge is to make a project using the letters L.O.V.E. here are mine:

I used cotton lace that I dyed violet, orange and violet papers, and I embossed my stamped label. The sentiment is my fave, from the Ippity set A Moment In Time. This is a mini album that I've been hoarding for awhile now, and needed a switch from making cards. I think I'll just make a family album with it, and this will be the front cover. A Tough One

The challenge at the Get Hippity with Ippity blog is to use the colors shown in this photo, called macaw hues. At first I thought OK no problem. Wrong! I first tried to make a card with patterned papers to match these colors, and it just looked all wrong. So I let it go for a few days, and today thought I could use those colors in the background with inks. So that's what I did! I used a few colors of distress inks, and a stampin up green. Looks pretty close to the colors in the photo. I went with the ippity set Totally Happy because of the bird on the fence. Not exactly a macaw, but it works! A Wedding Heart

It's time for my DT card for 2 Sister's Challenge Blog! The theme this week is to use at least one heart on your project. We are being sponsored by The Digi Doodle Shop, and I used the Just Married image. I kept it uncolored except for a few red accents, and cut out the heart shape with my Creative Memories heart pattern. The doily is dyed with Barn Door DI, and is actually one that I cut in half, and rounded the top to make it more of a heart shape. The card base is stamped with an Ippity heart, and embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. The sentiment is from Unity, and I added some red jewels. I thought this would make a nice pre-wedding card to send to the bride. I have never done that before, and I'm sure any bride would love it! Been In a Rut

That's where I've been lately, is stuck in a rut. I've made many 'things' this week, and that's where they have stayed. A 'thing'. I've been trying to kick start myself again, and decided to make a card for The Alley Way Stamps challenge. I was introduced to Alison, the owner of The Alley Way Stamps through her Free Digi stamps blog. She has now turned her artwork into stamps, and I have only one set right now, Kitchen Gadgets, which I used on this card. More are on my wish list though!! I love the cute and whimsical designs she creates, and her images are a blast to paper piece. The challenge this time around is to use the photo below as inspiration. I took some of the colors, and of course the banner to make my card. I even stamped one of the smiley faces, and hearts onto my banner, which my friend Emily has a great tip for creating one here. Instead of a punch(which I don't have) I used a star image from my Plantin' Schoolbook Cricut cartridge to make mine. Worked perfectly! I used some Cosmo Cricket papers from the Salt Air collection to match the colors in the photo, and used the rolling pin and sentiment from the Kitchen Gadgets set. My border is cut from a MFT die. I am pleased with this card(finally), and am happy to have made something worth showing!! :) So thank you Ali, for allowing me to kick start myself again!!

A New Challenge is up!

This week my DT members and I were to make a card with red, or pink. That's the challenge at the 2 Sister's blog! We are sponsored this week by Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps. I chose a Floppy Latte digi of tulips to use, and I colored it with my watercolor pencils, and water pen. Actually made it look like a watercolor painting this time! I don't have any of the good heavy paper, but I made it work! It didn't warp too much! The background is also watercolored, but it is very light. Yay! It's time again for Friends With Flair over at the Unity blog! I went with a Valentine this week, as I am also entering this in 2 other challenges! I used 3 Ippity stamp sets on this card, Sing a New Song, A Moment in Time, and House a Home. I was inspired by the sketch picked by Aletha at the Chick Challenges with ippity blog. And also by the color challenge at the Unity Opportunity blog! I used a larger size card than I usually use so I could fit all my elements on it. This one is a 5x7. I white embossed my banner and label, and left the sentiment in Barn Door DI. I used a free hand stitch on my sewing machine for around the border, for a bit of whimsy. Hope you like it! Valentiny is the theme this week for challenge me Monday at the Fantabulous Cricut Blog. We are to make a 3x3 card. My card base was made with the card feature on my Stretch Your Imagination cart., I've made a few cards with this feature, and think they're so neat. I used one of the flourishes for the center cut out, and all the hearts are from the Plantin' Schoolbook cart. I used my Sakura Clear Glaze pen on the flourish and hearts on the front of my card to make them stand out a bit more. The sentiment stamp on the inside is from Unity. Two First's!

This card has two first time's for me! My very first Tilda stamp! I've been admiring these images for about a year now, and I finally got my hands on some! I traded some doubles of stamps I had for 2 magnolia stamps on Splitcoast stampers. I couldn't wait to get them, and start coloring! The second is, I joined a new challenge blog called Fantabulous Cricut. Every week they have a Challenge Me Monday, and this week's theme is to use a label(not a circle) on your project. I chose to use the Cricut Craftroom free Basic Shapes for the label I used. I measured my stamp, and stretched the label to make the image fit. I do really love the new Cricut Craftroom! It gets me to use my Cricut more, since I can make any image exactly the size I want! Anyway, I colored sweet Tilda in with my pencils and blender pen. I really need to get a flesh tone marker, as of now, I use my blender pen and a blush blossom ink pad from Stampin Up! I can't quite get the shading right on the skintone. So that's next on my wishlist! I used paper from the Lily Bee Designs Picket fence pad, and the sentiment is from Unity. Time to post my card for my Design Team! This week at 2 Sister's challenge blog, the theme is to use embossing. We are being sponsored by 2 fabulous companies, Meljen's Design's, and Crafty Sentiments. My image came from Crafty Sentiments called Rose & Roxy, and I colored her with my pencils and blender pen. She is cut out on a Spellbinders die, then embossed. The background paper is from Authentique's Gathering collection. The ribbon rose I made by first dyeing white ribbon with broken china DI. I then adhered it to a punched circle by loosly gathering it around, and ending in the middle. I have tried these before and never seemed to get it right, but this one came out just fine! The sentiment is from the ippity set How You Doin? and is punched out with a small oval Stampin Up! punch. Some twine tied on the button, and the bottom of the card completes it! Not that Friday's have any real meaning to me, other than the Friends With Flair day over at the Unity blog!! This card is also being entered in 2 other challenges. Chick Challenges{with ippity}, where there is a sketch to follow. And the Unity Opportunity blog where we are to use Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue. So here's the breakdown: My card follows the sketch almost to a T. I used my Spellbinders die on the Picot circle with my Creative Memories Bountiful paper(something old,2008), the ippity stamp set A Moment In Time(my newest ippity set), which I stamped the label in Broken China DI embossed in clear then cut out, and the sentiment stamped in white embossed in white then punched out. Background paper and dew drops(my something blue), and my something borrowed is the mini clothespin from my craft supplies. I think that about covers it! I think this card came out very pretty, and it doesn't really have a theme other than love! So it could go to just about anyone! Also, a few posts back I had mentioned that I have an abundance, wait ABUNDANCE :) of cards made that are need of homes. I am going to donate them to Operation Write Home. It's All Heart

This card is all heart! I was inspired by 2 challenges to make this one, first is the Get Hippity with Ippity challenge to use hearts. And the second is at The Stamping Boutique to use die-cuts. My card features a Sizzix Movers and Shapers Heart die that I cut four times with pp. Three of them are stitched down the center for something different, and the fourth has a Stamping Boutique digi of Little Audrey Sitting, atop the other. I fussy cut her out after coloring with my pencils, and think she looks so cute sitting on that heart! I left her feet and head free of adhesive to make her look more 'natural'! The sentiment is from the {ippity} set How You Doin? Feel free to join in on both challenges! The rules are simple!

Blogger Fix

I have found a solution to the problems blogger is having. People are getting just a white screen when visiting blogs, not able to comment, and not able to view the whole blog page. Here is a fix for that problem. On your dashboard go to settings, scroll down to comments, and click on the option that says pop-up window, then save. This will only work on your blog. So if you aren't getting comments like you usually do, check your settings. I have done this to my blog. Also I have downloaded Google Chrome awhile back. This web browser works great with blogger. Never any issues. But I use Internet Explorer most of the time when I'm surfing the web, but it does have alot of conflicts with blogger for some reason. So that's 2 options you can try, and please pass this info along to your followers and friends! None of us want to miss out on your blogs!!

Workshop Cards

I'm finally posting the cards for January's workshop! Since I've been in a CAS mood lately, all the cards have that theme. The 2 above use Lawn Fawn and Hero Arts stamps. The bunny sentiment is computer generated since I didn't have anything that goes with it!

These 2 use four different companies, Inkadinkado, Hero Arts, Pink Paislee, and an {ippity} sentiment.

And this last one I used an {ippity} sentiment, and a much neglected Sizzix clear stamp! And I used my new favorite papers, Authentique Gathering. I just love the colors and patterns in this line. Hope to see some of you at the workshop!

On another note: I have made some changes to my online store. I now have flat rate shipping. Most orders will ship for $2.95 and is first class mail! I still have the priority flate rates as well for those who want their orders sooner. I am almost finished adding the complete line of Lawn Fawn stamps! I have really come to love their images! Flashback....

The challenge this month at Flashback Friday Challenges is to post your first CAS card. My original post is here. Didn't go back in time too far on this one, just about a year. This is a Tim Holtz technique done on this card where you ink up the stamp, then spray it with water, and it gives a watercolor affect. Pretty neat to do, and actually haven't done it for awhile! The stamps I used are from Unity, and now that I'm looking back, I really don't like that ribbon! And also I'm not sure what I even did with this card. I think I'm starting to hoard my cards! Sweet Dinosaur

I was so excited to work with this cute image for my DT at 2 Sister's Challenge Blog! The week's sponsor is the Digi Doodle Shop, and my image is called Louis Butterflies and Buttercups. I created a scrapbook LO for my 5 year old boy, who of course loves dinosaurs! I was having problems printing my image because my ink was low, so I gave him those to color in, and he went right to it! It was so cute! Anyway, I colored my image in with my watercolor pencils and blender pen. Cut him out, punched the corners with MS punch. and popped it onto the page. I used various papers from my stash, and inked a few Unity stamps along two edges of the page. Very cute! Now I just have to add 2 photos!

Here I am again with another Unity creation! Well, 2 for that matter! These were submitted to Paper Crafts, and were declined, so I can now share them for Unity's Friends With Flair! Have I mentioned before that I love my Unity stamps?! :) I do really use them more than any other stamps I own, I have an abundance of them, and still want more! Nothing wrong with that! These two cards both have {ippity} sentiments. Pretty CAS as you can get, but with that little something extra. I think they are both perfect! Birthday Wishes

Sometimes when I go to write up a post, I get writers block. I don't know where to begin, how to intro my paper creations, and this is one of those times! I never really have a story behind anything I create, no special person this card is going to, no special occasion coming up. I love reading blog posts that have these qualities, but can't produce them myself! So, instead of trying too hard, here's the reason for this post. I started following The Crafters Cafe Challenge Blog, and this month there are 3 girls on the DT whom are celebrating Birthdays.(happy birthday ladies!) So the theme of course is Birthdays! My digital image is from Tracey Malnofski, of The Stamping Boutique, and she is also the sponsor for the prize this week! She is my favorite artist, and her images are JUST my style! My First DT Card!!

I'm so excited to present my very first Design Team project! If you haven't heard, I am now on the team for 2 Sisters Challenge Blog! I couldn't be happier!! The theme for this week's challenge is 'Things With Wings' and we are being sponsored by Stitchy Bear Stamps, and I used a Floppy Latte Design called Little Trumpeteer. I printed this digital image onto Stampin Up! dsp, and all the other dp's are Stampin Up! as well. The card base is inked with Ripe Perssimon DI, and the image panel is inked with Crushed Concord DI. I die cut a mini flourish movers and shapers die, and stitched around the card with purple thread, added some hand dyed green dew drops, and a sheer ribbon flower I made. I love how my card turned out! I used two {ippity} by Unity stamp sets on this card. The sentiment is from my go to set How You Doin?, and the heart is from the set Life's Little Moments. I only used two colors of ink, Walnut Stain DI, and Memento Angel Pink. The papers are from the Authentique Uncommon line, and the card base is Kraft. I stitched a small zigzag all around on my sewing machine. And the two labels are punches from EK Success. Hope you get inspired by some of these challenges! Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday Trigger

Over at the Moxie Fab World it's Tuesday Trigger time! I played off the numbers of this cute quilt, and made a birthday card. I used my much neglected Sizzix Aphrodite sizzlits for the numbers, and just used scraps from my stash. I highlighted the 6 because I will save this card for my son's 6th birthday in May! How time flies. The sentiment is from the {ippity} set Party Hat Wishes, and is stamped with Broken China DI. The card base is lightly embossed with a Sizzix Texture plate from Stampin Up! to give it a look of quilting. Hope you are all having a Happy New Year! Here is the trigger photo:

A Unity Luminary

I saw a tutorial on the Authentique paper blog to make this luminary. They are quick to put together, and I may have my workshop girls do these in Jan.! It's Friday, so that means it's Friends With Flair day at the Unity blog! I used 2 stamp sets for making this, Jillibean Soup's Snowflakes Fall From Heaven, and the Roly Poly Winter Joy Itty Bitty. I paper pieced the snowman with Authentique Gathering paper. He's just too cute! I used a punch to get the shapes on each panel, and there is snowflake printed vellum covering each one. I saw a new card fold yesterday on Splitcoast Stampers for a Double Dutch Fold. I've been looking for a new fold to try, and like the result. I used kraft paper and it is a bit thick. The card doesn't want to stay shut even when laying flat. So next time I'll remeber to use thinner cardstock. But I still like it! I used the Authentique Gathering pad again. Love the soft colors! This piece of dp matches almost perfectly the ippity flower stamp from the Now & Always set, which I stamped in orange and turquoise. Love it! The sentiment is from the ippity set Just a Note. The 2 labels I cut from my Cricut from the free shapes at Cricut Craft Room. I am entering this at the Unity Opportunity ippity challenge to make a Thank You.

I found some time this morning to make a card for Unity's FWF, and also the {ippity} challenge to make a thank you. I embossed the background with my scoreboard, and stamped the ippity label from the set A Moment In Time, with Broken China DI onto Authentique paper. The small ippity label and sentiment is from the set Just Wanted To Say, and I stamped that in Gathered Twigs DI onto more Authentique paper. Added some twine to the side for something extra. I've been in the mood for CAS cards lately, but they are usually not my style. I keep wanting to add more to it! Thanks for stopping in, and Merry Christmas!

Authentique Sketch Challenge

The Authentique blog has a sketch challenge going on, and I just had to enter. For those of you who follow my blog, you have seen me use a lot of their papers, and I just love them! I've had the new Gathereing 6x6 paper pad for a few weeks now, but have just gotten around to using it. All the papers are double sided, and have a light texture. Love it! Here is the sketch we are to follow:

I used 2 different papers for the card front, and a matching die cut from the same line. The lace is from The Paper Studio, as well as the pearls. I didn't do any stamping on this card, and was refreshing! Now, I'm sure I will stamp something on the inside when I'm ready to send it! This will probably be my last post until after the holidays, so I want to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas!

Moxie Fab Stripes?

I wanted to play along this week over at the Moxie Fab World blog, for the Tuesday Trigger. If you look at the trigger photo below, my card has no stripes at all! I was inspired not by the stripes but the colors. I knew I had a scrap piece of dp with the blues and tans, and wanted to use that. I love to use blue and brown for winter cards, and love how this dp looks like an argyle sweater! That's why I went with buttons down the side. I also wanted to use my Winter Fox Lawn Fawn stamp. (if you click on the link under my blog header, I have started a Lawn Fawn Stamp of the Month Club!) When I first saw this stamp, it screams color me. But I wanted to paper piece him instead, and love how he looks! I popped him up on a Spellbinders label die, after stamping the sentiment. Cricut Craft Room

Calling all Cricut Machine owners!! Have you heard or seen the new Cricut Craft Room yet? About a month ago I saw on HSN, the launch of the new Cricut Mini machine and the Cricut Craft Room software. While the machine is small, it is very space saving. But I already have a Cricut Create, and it doesn't get much use. Until now! You see, the new software is FREE!! It works just like the Cricut Studio software, but better. So if you want to expand your Cricut machine, go check it out here! It's easy to download, and works with any Cricut machine and cartridge! When you download the software and register, you get a free Craft Room exclusive virtual cartridge! I've been playing around this morning with it, and let me tell you, my machine will get much more use now! I didn't use it much before, because I always got aggrevated not getting the right size of image that I wanted. With this software, I can set the image to whatever I want, slant it, weld it, stretch it. So up my alley!! When I first started my card making adventure, I used a lot of die cuts. Then I got into stamping more. While I still love stamping, my projects are going to include more die cuts now! I just wanted to share this info with all of you, and for all Cricut owners. Unity Friends With Flair Friday

I wanted to join in today at the Unity blog for Friends With Flair. When I sat down to work on a card I was stumped. I think I am card making overload from all the Christmas cards I've made and the workshop I had. So, I switched gears and went for a very simple CAS card. The Unity stamp set I used is Snowflakes Fall From Heaven. I haven't used this sentiment yet, so I thought it would be a perfect time. I will do the inside with some kind of winter saying. I used my favorite distress ink color Broken China on the snowflakes, and Gathered Twigs for the sentiment. Have had lots to do today, but my shopping is done, and the breezeway is full of wood again. Time to sit back and blog surf before hubby gets home! :)

Time For Winter!

Well, all my Christmas cards are finished, and it's time to move on to winter projects! Over at Get Hippity with {ippity} we have a sketch to follow, and it's a very different design, and was fun to do! The flower stamp is from the ippity set The Simple Things, and I first stamped it with white pigment ink. I didn't think it was bright enough, so I went over the whole image with a white gel pen. It made it stand out much better. The sentiment and snowflakes are Unity stamps. The aqua papers are from Coordinations, and I sanded the card base a bit to distress it. I also used Walnut Stain DI on some of the edges. I love using blue and brown on winter cards! I am also linking this to the Ippity Opportunity challenge, where it is anything goes. Tag Number 9!

Well, I made Tim's Tag Day 9! I just loved the look of this tag, and made time today to sqeeze this one in! All the stamps I used are Unity/Ippity except for the small candle. Not sure the maker of that one, it's a very light pink unmounted one. The Ippity 'candlestick' stamp is actually a base for a lamp, and worked great. I stamped it onto grunge, then inked it with Black soot DI, and followed Tim's steps from there. Everything else is done as Tim's except for different stamps of course! Very pleased the way this one turned out. That's all for now!

Jolly Snowman

I haven't posted anything since Monday, so I thought I better get to it! I have been busying preparing for my workshop this week, and doing errands, putting up the tree, and the list goes on! This is another workshop card that I wanted to share, and is my favorite! I die cut the winter wonder die with chipboard and painted him white. Then with Weathered Wood, Black Soot, Ripe Persimmon, and Gathered Twigs DI, I shaded him a bit. Die cut 2 mini holly leaves and stuck it to his hat with some red rhinestones. I tied on some green twine for a scarf. I also die cut a mini flourish and glued it to the bottom of him. The sentiment and mini oval are from Stampin Up!, and the small scalloped oval from Marvy. Paper is from Authentique Wonder pad. I haven't had time to make any more Tim's 12 tags of Christmas, but maybe when I catch myself up I'll work on some! Thanks for stopping by!

My Christmas Card Workshop Peak!

This post is for the girls coming to my workshop this Saturday! This is only 4 of the cards, but you'll have to wait to see the rest! And looky there, even the inside of them are decorated! You didn't think I'd leave them blank did you! ;-) The hobby lobby girls know that I am famous for leaving the inside of my cards blank. Once in a great while I get the urge to do the inside! But since this is a special workshop, I couldn't leave them blank! Hope you like them!

Tag Number 4 and Ornament from Tag 5

So, I'm a day late with Tim's tag #4, but I did finish it yesterday! My snowman's crackle affect is not that great, as I used a crackle medium, not the rock candy crackle. But there is some crackle in him none the less! My background came out pretty good, I used faded jeans distress stain, and white acrylic paint. The Unity snowflakes were stamped with weathered wood DI on the background. My clear snowflakes were cut out with a Spellbinders die, and let me tell you, I was disappointed that the dies will not cut all the way through the clear packaging. So I had to use my scissors to cut around them. And some buttons, sheer ribbon, and pearls to finish it off. Now my next project was fun, and amazing! I made an ornament with Tim's day 5 tag. I just happen to have bought some of the foil tape last week! I was amazed his technique worked! And what a pretty ornament it is! I used cranberry alcohol ink on mine, and an ippity dot background stamp. So cool! I don't have time right now to do the whole tag, as I have loads to do today, but maybe later I'll get to play some more!! Have fun!

Tag Number 3!

Another improvised version of Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas, but I am quite pleased with my result! I do not have cut-n-dry foam, and have never tried his technique. But I have achieved a similar look with this technique. I used the post card texture fade folder, and embossed my tag in two different directions. That way the words fit on this smaller sized tag. Then with a very light hand, I used the distress tool and foam, and lightly went over the embossed words with various colors of DI. Makeup sponges work great for this also. The colors I used are Festive Berries, Evergreen Bough, Iced Spruce, Black Soot, and Wild Honey. Now, I did get a bit of ink on the non-embossed part of the tag, but once I sprayed it with Spun Sugar Smooch Spritz, it blended in! Very happy at this point! I then die cut my greenery items, and glued them in place, and added my already red rhinestones. Some sheer ribbon and twine, that I did curl up, and done! Tag Number 2!

Well, I'm on a roll! Got my 2nd Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas done! So here's how this one went, as I do not have anything he calls for! I started with plain kraft paper, stamped the music score with black stazon, stamped the words Joy, and embossed with clear. I painted my tag with watered down white acrylic paint. I stamped a Scrolls Works stamp with Evergreen Bough and Gathered Twigs DI, and added some berries with my fantastix and Festive berries DI. So far so good! My Spellbinders bird was cut out with chipboard, and white sticky back canvas that I colored with Antique Linen DI. Attached some twine around it's neck, a bead, and a chenille stem for the wreath. Not bad. The border at the bottom was punched out of kraft paper, and distressed with Gathered Twigs DI. My brads were distressed with a mini ball pien hammer. Colored my ribbon with Vintage Photo Distress Stain, and tied on green burlap. I am pleased with my interpretation of Tim's tag! Hope you are all having a good time with yours!!

My First 12 Tags of Christmas!

This is my second year following Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas, but my first tag I actually made! I've used the techniques he has shown in the past for other projects, but this year I wanted to actually join in, and makes some of his tags. And he also put a linky tool in his posts so you can link your tag to his blog. How cool is that?! My tag follows along pretty close. The EF is a Sizzix one by Basic Grey, sentiment was cut from my Cricut, I already had the pinecone die, and the mini holly leaf die. My pinecones turned out pretty good this time around, and look much better with a little paint and stickles on them. My paper is Coordinations and DCWV. Some beads from my stash, and true seam binding for the ribbon. I used the 2 new seasonal DI inks, Iced Spruce and Evergreen Bough. I had fun making this tag, although it took almost 2 hours! My husband asks me sometimes what I do all day, and if I get bored. He has no idea how long it takes to paper craft, and probably will never get it, but that's fine. I am more than happy to be in my craft room passing the hours by! It's a fantastic 'job' to have!!! Thank you for looking in!.......................................................Pam

Foil Tape and Shrink Plastic

OK, so I'm having sooo much fun with Ranger's shrink plastic, I can't stand it! I sound like a kid, I know. But back in the 70's we had shrinky dinks, and I can remember how fun it was to watch them transform in the oven. Well, back then we didn't have a heat tool either, and I just love holding that tool and watching these pieces of plastic shrivel up to tiny little charms! I punched holes in 2 of them to hang from something when I go to use them. So cute! And colored pencils and markers work great for coloring them in before shrinking. I think everyone will have one of these little charms on their gift tag this year! And I also have been playing with Ranger's metal foil tape sheets. The snowflake ornament I cut the tape out with a Spellbinders die twice, then stuck the two together. I saw this done in Paper Creations magazine, and wanted to try it. I already had the bottle caps, so I decorated the inside and used glue dots to adhere it to the foil. The santa ornament is made with craft foil. It is a little heavier than the tape sheets. I cut it out with the tattered floral die, then embossed it. And put it together the same way. They make for a nice new ornament for the tree, but they are fragile, as the foil bends easy. A Simple Christmas

I think sometimes people get all caught up in the materialistic side of Christmas. Decorating, buying too many gifts, must have this or that. My Christmas days are always simple. One tree, one or two table decorations, and a wreath on the door. This card symbolizes my simple Christmas. It is a time to remember what Christmas is really celebrated for, the birth of Christ. So, I will enjoy my simple Christmas' every year, and maybe my words may have some affect on you, to take it easy, and not get too caught up in the bustle of the season. Jumbo Madallions!

I've just started following Paper Crafts' Moxie Fab World blog. Don't know how I've missed this fab blog this long! Anyway, there are lots of challenges over there right now, and I am linking this gift bag to their Championing Award Medallions Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. You are to incorporate medallions in some form on your project. I decided to do this gift bag because I will be needing some for gifts very soon! I started with a 6" medallion or rosette, I scored it every half inch. Then a 4 inch one scored every 1/4 inch. The smallest one I made with Tim Holtz's rosette die. They all fit quite nicely together. I made a little charm out of fragments, and a swivel clasp (tim holtz) and attatched it to the largest medallion. The bag itself is stamped with 2 different tree stamps, and a small snowflake stamp. I had to stamp the back too! Some ribbon, and a tag, and done! Although it did take me about an an hour and a half to complete it!! But it looks great, and I am pleased! This is my first time entering over at the Moxie Fab World, so I must be off to see more medallions! Thanks for taking the time to stop in!

I found this stamp the other night at Hobby Lobby, and just had to have it! It is by Stampabilities, and it is also 40% off until Saturday! Anyway, I thought it was a pretty image, and couldn't wait to make something with him. I stamped him onto a Top Note die cut, and colored a few places with markers. His skin tone is blush blossom from Stampin Up. I took a white pen and highlighted a few places on his beard and hat, but thought it needed something else, so I added some frosted lace Stickles as well. Can't see it too well in the pic. The bg paper is again from the Authentique Wonder pad, and I embossed a piece of cardstock with the Tim Holtz postcard EF. Some matching ribbon looped up, a pearl and rhinestone to complete it. Wait! There is no sentiment!! I thought I had a 'believe' stamp, but I don't, so I will have to make a computer generated one. And I also want to decorate the inside of the card. This is a 5x7 card. This time around at the {ippity} challenge blog, we are to make a 'cool' project. I had to use this penguin again, and he fits in perfectly for this theme. I wanted his colors to be darker this time, so I colored him with my RoseArt markers. Cut him out and popped him up onto the top note die cut. I'm getting in under the wire over at Chick Challenges{with ippity} We are to make a card from a sketch and this week it's a round card. Mine is small in size about 4 inches. I had bought a pack of paper doilies, and they aren't very big, so I made my card around that. I used my favorite ippity set Now and Always, and stamped the flower, then cut them out and popped them up on the card. I usually layer this stamp, but I went with buttons for the centers instead. Thankful For You in Raffia

The peeps over at the Gingersnap Creations blog, have a spicy supply challenge to use raffia to go along with their down on the farm theme this month. This is an excellent challenge, because I have never thought to use raffia in my paper craft projects. I have a ton of it in my cabinet, and always use it in floral arranging. Now I've used all types of twine and hemp, but the raffia will now stay in my paper craft supplies! And some of the Ladies have inked theirs, and it looks fabulous that way too! I braided my raffia, then tied the ends to make a wreath. The papers I used are from the Authentique Blissful pad. I die cut a Spellbinders Picot Edge circle to anchor the wreath to. Christmas Card!

OK, so I'm in the Christmas card making mood now! Although it's 65 degrees out today here in Ohio, I will not look forward to the chill of winter! But I really LOVE these Authentique Wonder papers!! Cheryl has a tutorial on her blog on how to make this card. Click on her name to go check it out! I was wanting to try something different in making a card, so this design was perfect! Thanks so much Cheryl! My card size is 6x6, and I used smaller measurements than Cheryls, but I got it to all work out! I used the new Picot Edge Spellbinders die, and also the new Movers and Shapers mini holly leaf by Tim Holtz's alteration line. The red berries were first clear, and I used my alcohol inks to die them red. I got a huge bag of these at Pat Catans in the floral dept for like $7.00 they will last me quite awhile! Happy Sunday to you! I have ventured into drawing again. I used to be quite good ages ago, but as time went on, I stopped drawing all together. I got a spark the other day to start up again. And am very rusty! I managed to draw two snowman images, and June from Dezinaworld was gracious enough to turn them into digi stamps for me! She's such a dear! I got this free digital image some time ago, and do not know what blog it came from. I should keep better track of them! Her name is Cute Amy, and since I got it free, I am posting this free digi below for you! I am linking this to 2 Sister's Challenge Blog where they have a color challenge to use black, orange, purple, lime green, and white. A lot I know! But I colored her in with my pencils, and die cut it out with a spellbinders die. The lime green paper is from Creative Memories, and I stamped the Victorian Lace SU! background stamp in green galore ink. I stitched around the green paper only and adhered it to the black cardstock from The Paper Company. The purple flourish was die cut from a Sizzix die, and is DCWV sticky back paper. Well, I've had a bug for some time now, and I wish it would go away! Over at All Things Unity, we are 'to get buggy with it' meaning create something with bugs! There are lots of those biting japenese beetles trying to get in the house now that it's cooler, but I went with a sickly bug. The beetle image is from the ippity set A Little Buggy, and I used my pencils on him. Now that Halloween is over, I still can't make myself start a bunch of Christmas cards yet! Hoping the snow holds off for awhile! I made this card for the Chick Challenges {with Ippity}. They have a sketch to follow, and to use only ippity stamps. I used the bit of burlap stamp on the background with Antique Linen DI, and the sentiment is from the set Here and Now, and it's stamped in Palette Hybrid burnt umber. The turkey is made from punches and dies, and the paper is either Cosmo Cricket, Echo Park, or October Afternoon. Sorry, I cut the bottoms off the 12x12 paper so I can't remember! The punches I used to make him is an oval, circle, heart, scalloped oval(for the feet), and a jelly bean Sizzix die for the head. I didn't have a small enough oval for the head, so the jelly bean worked! I cut a triangle for the beak, and drew on some eyes. He looks pretty cute! The sentiment label is a Spellbinders die. Just thought I'd share a photo of my son and I all dressed up for trick-or-treating! Well, my son was dressed up as a pirate, I was halfway done. I was a scarecrow with no stuffing! Didn't have any straw handy! And the patches on my face was painted on with paint dabbers! It came off fairly well! My son got lots of candy and of course that made him happy! My DH carved out the pumpkin that my son grew in our garden. And he stayed at the house to pass out candy. Have a spooktacular day, thanks for flying by!

Well I finally got a new web browser for viewing and commenting on blogs. I downloaded Google Chrome, and it works perfectly. I can finally get on those blogs that I haven't been able to in months. For some reason, Internet Explorer has some conflicts with blogs! One of those blogs is Gingersnap Creations. I've missed entering and even commenting on their blog, and now I can! Finally! They have a challenge right now to use black and grays, and although there is some kind of Poe theme as well, mine isn't anything close to that! But the colors are right on! I chose to do pretty and sophisticated, instead of dark and dreary since it's close to Halloween and all. Not my usual style by any means, but I was up for the challenge. She's Got Legs!

Ok, so I don't have legs like this anymore, but when I was younger I wanted to be one of the ZZ Top girls. You can laugh, it's OK! Well, this image sure has legs, and she knows how to use them! This is another image from The Stamping Boutique that I colored in with my pencils. I'm still learning the whole shading technique. I have not jumped on the Copic bandwagon, I can't see myself buying tons of colors of markers. Although they look nice, I'll stick with my pencils! I came across a Unity Stamp Co.'s artist, Tracey Malnofski. She designs for Unity, but also has her own site The Stamping Boutique, where she sells her hand drawn art in digital stamps. This scarecrow is one I got over the weekend. He is colored with my watercolor pencils on thick cardstock. The bg paper I also colored with Ripe Persimmon DI, it was just a cream color. Added some rick rack and buttons. I still need to add a few elements maybe, but I didn't want to take away from the scarecrow image. I think he's so cute! Halloween Cutie

I recieved my package of stamps that I won from Unity yesterday!!! Soooo many cute stamps were in there, including this little witchy woman! She's so adorable, and I had to color her in with my watercolor pencils. I don't usually send out halloween cards, but I just couldn't resist! The papers are from the Authentique Glowing paper pad, and I used Black Soot, and Crushed Concord DI. The stitching is a funky one on my sewing machine, and it's done in purple thread. I made this card for my husband's birthday, which is tomorrow. I'm hoping he'll let me take him out to dinner! I've ordered him a few things from Duluth Trading and should be in today's mail, so that should make him happy! I'm sorry my pics aren't vey good. I finally got a new camera, top of the line 14mp. And do you think I can take a good picture with it? HA! If anyone has some advice for a point and shoot camera, please do tell!! Better Paper Pumpkin!

I follow a Stampin Up! demo's blog, which I just love! I've shared links to her blog before along with videos, and today Holly posted a paper pumpkin project with video! To see how she makes hers, click here. This one here is the second one I made, and I changed mine a bit. I used 7 strips of paper, and instead of knotting the ribbon at the bottom, I folded the ribbon over and used a big glue dot to hold it in place. This makes the pumpkin sit flatter. I didn't add any leaves like hers, just the twisted paper vines. Go check out her video, and make some of your own!

Ippity Chick Challenge

The Ippity Chicks have set up a sketch challenge blog, and each week one chick will be giving away some Ippity goodness! This week Sherri Thompson is the sponser and she has picked a sketch which you can find all of the info here. My sentiment is of course an Ippity one, and I got my shaped card from the Top Note Sizzix die. My flower was made with a Martha Stewart border punch, and I have instructions for making them below. My sweet blog friend Emily sent me a get well card last week because I wasn't feeling well(thanks so much Emily!), so that's what prompted me to make this one. The punch on the left I just got, and it makes a rolled flower as shown here. The other punch is a normal size EK Success border punch. While I like the look of the flower that this new punch makes, it is not good for mailing at all. It stands up too tall.

So I racked my brain a bit, and come up with this flower using the same punch. Quite different, but much flatter for mailing. So here's how it's made.

Punch any length with the punch, mine is 8 1/2" This punch will also leave a 1/4" border at the bottom. If using a regular border punch, trim your's to 1/4" Start folding the strip as shown. I also cut a 1 1/4" circle and applied some super tacky adhesive. This will be used to attach your strips on.

Punch 2 more strips and start folding them in the same way, except make the folds smaller than the one before. I used 3 strips on my flower.

Once your strips are all folded, overlap the two ends and glue in place. I used a glue pen, but any glue should work. The second flower in this pic is what yours should look like after folding and gluing. It's not flat I know, but push down your flower and crease the folds good, and you will have a flat piece like the third one shown.

Now, start layering each one on your circle. You may need to add more adhesive for the last one.

This is what it should look like with all three strips. The center isn't very attractive, so I added a large button. The purple flower here is from the punch shown above, and the one on my card is a Martha Stewart border punch. So any one will work really, just make sure your folds keep getting smaller on the 3 strips!

Paper Punch Pumpkins Tutorial

I've been using my punches a lot lately, and realized I don't need my fancy cricut machine or even my Sizzix dies(which are still great for cutting chipboard!) I started my paper crafting adventure with die cuts, and have missed using them on my projects. So I was scanning Youtube for punch art, and saw these cute pumpkins made with scalloped ovals. You can use plain ovals as well! So here is my little tutorial on how I made mine.

Start with 6 punched ovals, and stamp or ink them as desired.

Ahere the 2 bottom pieces together as shown, and add a piece of twine, yarn, or ribbon for the stem. For the next layer, adhere sticky back foam as shown. The one on the right is offset on purpose, so when you attach them to the bottom piece, the foam isn't in the way.

Layer them on the bottom as shown. For the top piece, adhere foam in the middle.

Attach to the middle pieces as shown.

Here is a side view of mine. I did use a thinner type of foam so I could mail them without being too thick. For a scrapbook page though, thicker foam would be fine. Thanks for looking at my little punch art today, and I have some fabulous flowers to share later made with border punches!!

More Pumpkins + a Video!

I have been wanting to do a video for awhile, but my digital camera quit working. I finally got a new one, and am figuring it out still, took me 4 takes to get this short video done! Anyway, here is another pumkin I learned how to do recently. and thought I'd share it with you! I'll try working on another one today, maybe just a picture tutorial! I still have this dreadful cold, so my voice sounds horrible, and I somehow cut my self off at the end, so you don't here me say 'thanks for watching!' So, enjoy!!

Fall Treat Bag

Fall is the perfect time to start making and giving those holiday treats. Whether it be apple muffins, to my favorite, peanut butter fudge! You need a little gift package to put them in. I saw this gift bag tutorial on the Glue Arts blog here, and it's very easy to do. No cutting of paper, no tabs, and uses one 8 1/2 by 11 piece of paper. I am entering this to Unity's monthly challenge here, to use leaves. The stamp set I used is Unity Store Kit called, Harvest of Memories. I took one leaf stamp, and the 3 new colors of distress inks, and made my own DP. The labels were cut with my Spellbinders dies and the Authentique Blissful paper pad. I then stamped the sentiment with Stazon ink. I also used the leaf stamp on more papers from this pad, and cut them out, and popped them behind the label. I punched holes in the top, and tied ribbon for the handles. Very cute, and perfect for holding some goodies! I had to join in on World Card Making Day, and make a card to post today. I've had these Quickutz dies of the globe for some time, and have never used them. I thought today was a perfect time to use them! The background map stamp is from The Artistic Stamper, that I won from Jennie's blog this summer. Fits perfect with this theme. The ticket style stamp is an older Stampin Up one, and the sentiment is computer generated. I used Antique Linen, and the new Gathered Twigs distress inks, as well as my fav, Broken China. I stamped the map again on this inside, and put some Basic Grey paper for journaling on instead of a sentiment. Hope you get some time to create today!

A Peek Into My Crafting Space

Happy Friday to you all! I don't have any projects to share today, but I've been wanting to share a little of my crafting space with you for some time. I am in a CONSTANT state of reorganizing in my room. My DH calls it a horders dream room, and I don't argue with him at all! But, I try to organize the best that I can, and I'm coming along slowly. The pics here is my repurposed item. This is a Sizzix die tower that I almost got rid of in a garage sale, but as I was pricing it, I thought there has to be something else I can use this for.(i just really didn't want to give it up! lol) So back in the room it went, and decided to put my inks in it, since I didn't have any good place to put them all. The DI inks fit well, as does some of my other inks. It's on a carousel, so I can just turn it round as needed. My DI handles fit on the top of the tower great, and I actually need to make room for my new fall DI inks! Some of the pigment inks will have to go! I'll never get rid of this tower now, in fact, I should look on ebay for another one! Hey, my inks have to be stored somewhere! :) Hope you enjoyed the little peek into my room, and maybe you can think of repurposing something too! Have a great weekend!

Window Card and a Digital Stamp

I set out this morning to make a window card, and accomplished that, but it took me about an hour and half! Having to stop every ten minutes and blow my nose from this cold, and then deciding what to put on the inside of the card, took me forever! But the end result is pleasing to me, so that's all that matters! I had cut a few things from my cricut for the inside, and wasn't happy with them, so I went with this quickutz die of a tree. The camera doesn't pick it up, but I chalked the sky blue, and green for the grass. The papers I used are from the Splendid pad by Authentique. And the sentiment stamp is an older Stampin Up one. I made myself a little template for punching the 'windows', and it worked out well.
The second card here I made with a digi stamp from Stampin Up. They call them stamp brushes. I looked on their website and found they have hundreds of stamp sets available for digital download. So, I wanted to try one out, and picked this doily background image. It was only 2 dollars. I wanted to see if their images worked without buying their digital software, and it does! I can resize, color, rotate, whatever with my software. So I am pleased with that as well. Now I have other digi stamps, but they must be colored in, and I usually do that with my watercolor pencils. I wanted something I didn't have to color myself. Sounds lazy I know! Anyway, just wanted to share with you my new digital work. Thanks for stopping by and reading my rambling! :)

A Quick Little Gift

I'm back to share a cute little gift package with the red and blue papers from the new Lily Bee Harvest Market pad. I die cut the large tattered rose, and added some weathered wood DI to the edges. On the inside, is the little gift! I put some lip balm in there, but you could put lipstick, mini nailpolish, or glitter, stickles, glue stick. Okay, you get the idea! Haven't been feeling well the past few days, but I managed to finish this project today. Must motivate myself to get some housework done. Oh joy! Thanks so much for having a look in today!

A Play on Paper

Hello all! I've been playing today with the new paper from Lily Bee Designs call Harvest Market. This is a 6x6 paper pad, perfect for cards! I have it in stock in my store now. I thought I would let the papers show off this card more than the stamping. I did stamp some leaves onto the dp, then cut them out, and used them as an embellishment. The little flower I made using a small flower punch, and stacked 4 together, and scrunched it up a bit, and held together with a brad. I also like the red and blues in this paper pad, so off to make something with them! Thank you for looking in!

Pumpkin Time!

One of my favorite things about fall, are the pumpkins! Small ones, big ones, funny shaped gourd type ones. They're all good to me! My son and I planted some pumpkins in the spring, and we have 2 for him to color on, or I'll carve them for him. This project here is a simple one, and I used the new Authentique Glowing paper pad(you can find it in my online store!) The paper pad is 6x6, so I used the length, and cut 3/8" strips from 4 different papers. I pierced holes on each end, and in the center of each strip, and started putting them all together with brads at the top and bottom of the pumpkin. After all the strips were together, I squashed it down a bit to give it a pumkin shape. I used a piece of wire for the vine, and the leaves are sequins. Very easy! You may start to see alot of these pumpkins popping up around blogland soon, since summer is almost over here in my part of the world! Thanks for stopping in, have a great weekend!!

Stampin Up! Color Challenge

I follow a blog called Rubber Redneck, owned by Holly. I love her videos, and have shared some of hers on my blog. She is a Stampin Up! rep, and has another blog called Rubber Redneck Stampede. Good Monday morning everyone! I will try and keep this post as short as possible! But, I just want to share with you my paper crafting and blogging experience with you! As of Sept. 4, 2010, I made my first post as a blogger! It's been 1 year, and have enjoyed all the blogs that I have seen since the beginning. I know I haven't come far as followers go, but I thank all of you for following me, and leaving comments! I will be giving away a pack of paper from Lily Bee Designs to one lucky commenter! I began paper crafting in 2001 after buying some stamps, and the original Sizzix die cut machine(which I still have!) I had a subscription to Paper Crafts magazine, and wanted to make my own cards. I do remember having pigment inks, and thought something was wrong with them because they weren't drying! Little did I know back then! From there I bought a scrapbook, and made some crude looking pages! But, we all have to start somewhere! The card shown here managed to never get mailed out!! Not sure if I used ink or paint for the background, and I must have used markers on this stamp. It's almost embarrassing to show this card, but it is a far cry from what I make now! So, 10 years and 100 stamps(or more!) later, this is where I am today, enjoying the blogs I follow, and still looking for something new to try. Good luck everyone for a chance to win the paper pad!
