This birdhouse was made from a milk carton template that I got some time ago from
Mirkwood Designs. There are many free templates that you can download there, so go check them out! I have made the milk carton before, but never into a birdhouse. I think it's the perfect shape! To make the roof, I cut a piece of cardstock 3" x 6" folded it in half, then opened it up to emboss it. It is held in place with a little tape, and I punched a hole in the top of all the layers, then added some ribbon. All the embellishments are punched shapes, except for the two topiary trees in the front which are from a Sizzix Strip die. I added some glossy accents to the door and around the windows, then sprinkled on some pink glitter. The grass is cut from the cool Martha Stewart scissors, then glued on. I am following the colors from
The Play Date Cafe this week which are Evergreen, Gumdrop, and Candy Cane Red.
Thank you for looking!
