A Shabby Chic Christmas

After getting all of my Fall and Thanksgiving cards done, I am now in Christmas card mode. I had this card in mind to make, and it just happens to fit the theme at the Passion for ProMarkers blog, where the theme is Shabby with blue or pink. My image is of course colored with my ProMarkers, and the rest is listed below. I love the non-tradition Christmas colors, and may make more of these. When making my Christmas cards, I always make one of each design. So everyone gets a different card. But I really like this one, so I may tweek it a little so it's not identical, use different patterned paper, a different music background, sounds like I need to go create some more! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!
Supplies used: Stampin Up Greeting Card Kids, Hero Arts music background, Unity Stamp Co. snowflakes, Rubber Stampede sentiment, Distress inks and black Momento ink, Stampin Up cardstock and glitter, Creative Memories patterned paper, The Paper Studio lace, buttons and ribbon from stash, sewing machine, Tonic distress tool, and ProMarkers for coloring.

Online Class

I've been participating in Holly's Online Class challenges, and wanted to share a couple that I've made so far. The class runs for two weeks, and the third week is all challenges. Click on the link if your interested! All products used are from Stampin' Up. The first card has all the elements made in My Digital Studio. I downloaded the free trial version, and really love it! So now I'll have to get the CD!
This card only has the dsp done in the software, and the pumpkins are from an older stamp set. I am enjoying the class, which is chock full of videos and complete instructions for all projects! I am getting all my fall and Thanksgiving cards done! That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by!

Be Inspired......

Hello! I have made this tag for the Be Inspired challenge at The Alley Way Stamps blog. Here is the inspiration photo:
I was mostly inspired by the plaid pumpkins, cause I love plaid! And also the orange pumpkins, which I just used the color orange. I made my plaid background with Alcohol inks, felt, and glossy paper. I toned down the ink colors with blending solution. The bat and sentiment are an Alley Way Stamps freebie, which you can find here. I stamped an orange woodgrain background onto the card stock first, then printed off the bat onto it. Fussy cut around it and popped it up. I punched out the sentiment and slid it behind the black. A few ribbons and fibers from my stash attached to the top. I'll give this to my husband on Halloween with a little bag of treats. Check the link above if you'd like to join in! Thanks for flying in!!

So Trendy......

OK, so the hot new color trend in paper crafting is Neon. Now, I'm not a big fan. Even in the 80's when neon was hot, I recall only having shoe laces and jelly bracelets in these bright colors! But, I challenged myself to hop on the trend and make something. My husband had just recently brought me home a fun multi colored highlighter marker, and my first thought was 'Hey, I now have neon for my paper crafts!' The theme this time at Simon Says Stamp is We're So Trendy, to use neon, hexagons, or chevrons. I incorporated two of these by die cutting the arrows from a Sizzix die then coloring each one with my highlighter marker. I arranged them into the chevron shape and glued them to black card stock. The sentiment was done on the computer. For those who haven't tried this, it's hard to get a good neon color! The sentiment says 'You Brighten my day' The camera doesn't quite show how bright these neons are, but you get the point! I really wanted to add more to this, as it's really not my style, but I thought that the neon deserved the spotlight! Thanks so much for stopping by, and check the Simon Says link above for more trendy projects!

Block Party!

Hello! The Market Street Stamps Blog is having a fun Block Party!! It's a challenge where you link up your project using Market Street Stamps for this weekend only. There is a great prize to be won, and also a chance to be a Guest Designer!! How great would that be?! This is a card that I made to enter. If you'd like a chance, click the link above! The stamp set I used is called Grow, and I colored it in with my Pro Markers. This is a nice size stamp, so with my other embellishments, I decided to not add a sentiment on the front. The inside will be decorated, and I can use it for any occasion. The list of other supplies used are below. Thank you for stopping by, and enjoy the Block Party!!
Supplies used: All card stock from Stampin Up!, designer paper from Cosmo Cricket's Baby Jane line, The Twinery twine, Stampin Up! buttons, pearl and white twine, sewing machine.

Backwards Gate Fold

Hello! I have made gate fold cards before, but never used them backwards. Instead of opening the sides to reveal the inside, the inside is now the focal point of the card. This folds up to be an A2 size. I used one of my Tilda stamps on this, and colored her with my ProMarkers. I am starting to get the hang of these markers, and am more pleased with every project I make! The shadowing on this image turned out great for me, as I've only been playing with these for about a month! The yellow DP is from an older DCWV stack, card stock from Stampin Up!, sentiments from Lawn Fawn, and the die cut swirls are from Sizzix(Tim Holtz). Thanks so much for stopping by, and below are the challenges I would like to enter this in!
