Special Thoughts

I am playing along with my Stampin Up! demos blog, The Rubber Redneck Stampede, with a sketch challenge. I haven't joined in on her challenges for quite some time, and it was quite refreshing! I placed an order through Holly a little while ago, and received from her a thank you gift of papers, ribbons, and buttons, that I have used on this card. My materials list is below. Stampin Up! is having some big changes coming up in the new catalog, and cannot wait until June to see it! I have about 6 years worth of idea books, and still anticipate the new ones!! Check Holly's site above if you'd like to purchase any products, and do check her blog too, as she always has the cutest projects! And if you want even more, you should really check out her youtube channel, she has many videos that I just love to watch(and learn!) Thanks for stopping by!

Black and White

Our theme this week at the 2 Sister's Challenge Blog is black and white with a touch of color. Our sponsor is the Digi Garden, and I chose to use this image called Lucy. She is really cute! I have paper pieced her dress and shoes, something I haven't done with a digi before, and am very pleased with it! I had to print her off in reverse onto the back side of the black patterned paper so I could see the print lines. Worked like a charm.  I'll have to do this more often, as I have many digi's now!! And I punched out a red heart for my touch of color. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I hope you get to join us for this week's challenge!

Rain or Showers

That is our theme this time around at Get Hippity with Ippity! Seeing as how I don't have any Ippity stamps that show rain, umbrella, etc., I had to get creative with this one. My clouds are actually the thought bubble from the set Sweet Thoughts of Spring, and left off the trail of bubbles. And the sun was made by stamping the Gurnsey Gingham background stamp, then punching and cutting out the shapes. I used watered down ink and a paintbrush to splatter on some rain for the background. And the sentiment is an Ippity itty bitty called Happy are Those. There is only a few days left to enter our challenge!! Thank you for stopping by today!

Wednesday Inspiration

I've made a second card for our Wednesday DT inspiration at 2 Sister's Challenge Blog. Our theme this week is to use a digi, now how simple is that?!! One of our sponsors is Robyn's Fetish, and this is one of there images called Heloise Garden Gal. She is colored with my pencils, except for the skintone, which is marker. The ovals were cut out from my Creative Memories Oval Patterns, used up some scrap papers, stitched around the edge, added some gems, and the sentiment I believe is from Unity. That's it from me today! Thanks for stopping by!!

Ba Ba Black Sheep!

I've always thought of myself as the black sheep of our family. Not in a bad way, just different! :) So when this image came up for us to use at 2 Sister's Challenge blog, I just had to use it! The theme this week is to use a digi , and our sponsor is Robyn's Fetish, and this image is called Love Ewe. So cute! So I colored him black with my ProMarkers, and tan for his face, legs, and ears. The sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn set, and thought it was quite appropriate for my little black sheep!! The papers are from Lily Bee Designs. Thanks for looking in, and I hope you'll join us and go check out what my other DT mates have done!

Flight of the Butterfly

The butterfly's are just flying around everywhere here! Some may be a type of moth, but they are pretty just the same! These papers are from the new Pink Paislee's London Market collection. A very soft color palette they have. I am following a sketch from the Chick Challenges {with ippity} blog below. The scalloped edge of the card was made with my Creative Memories Jumbo Scallop Circle pattern. I stamped the flowers from the Ippity set Friends+Flowers=Priceless set, and fussy cut them out, and the sentiment is from the New Season New Wonder Ippity set. I am also linking this to the Unity Friends with Flair. Thank you for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Another Flashback!

These paper bag albums I made a few years ago, and was actually my second post on my blog. Sept. 4th, 2010. Had 0 comments, and no followers yet!! So I'm sure no one has seen these! :) You can see the original post here. I am playing along with the Flashback Friday Challenge where we are to show our first project using a die cut. That's how my paper crafting adventures started was with my original Sizzix machine. So everything I made had a die cut in it! And I still love to use them! The one album has Sizzix die cut letters,(not sure why the word 'is' is not centered!) tabs, and the flowers are actually a die cut too made into a 3D flower. Haven't done that for awhile, may have to make some new ones! So, that's my flashback for this time around, thanks for stopping by!

Peace, Love, and Cards

I spent the weekend at our annual scrapbook overnight in Berlin, Ohio. The theme this year was the 60's and I was diggin' it! I brought home some groovy goodies, from way cool door prizes and gifts from our fabulous Creative Memories consultant, to far out Amish cheeses and candy! So I decided to carry this hippie theme for the Chick Challenges {with ippity} blog. I used the Something Groovy Ippity set, and followed their sketch. The VW van was colored in with my ProMarkers, then I inked the peace sign with a marker, and randomly stamped it on the card base. This is an A 10 size card, and was a bit awkward for me, as I usually never make this size. But, I managed to fill in all the space, and think it is Funky! The tie die background in the pic is the T-shirt that we all got. It says Peace, Love, Scrapbook. Far out man!! Thanks for stopping in to see my little piece of love! Peace out!!

Flowers

Happy Saturday!! Our theme this week at the 2 Sister's Challenge Blog is to use an image with a flower in it. We are being sponsored by the Digi Doodle Shop, and I have used an image called Daffodils 2. I colored the flowers and leaves with pencils, they are so small, and it was hard for me to get good shading. And the bucket was watercolored with Weathered Wood distress ink, and I really love how that turned out!! The pretty papers are from Pink Paislee, and the sentiment stamp is from Unity. Hope you'll join us this week!!

White on White

I have started following a challenge blog called Passion For ProMarkers. I bought my first set of ProMarkers a few weeks ago, and have enjoyed playing around with them. So, when I came across this challenge blog, I thought it would be perfect to join in! The theme this time is White on White, to use only white except for your image. Speaking of image, this was a freebie that I got last year, and I'm not sure where it came from, as the file  doesn't give a name. But, I colored her in with my markers, and added the shading by applying more color after each layer was dry. I didn't use the blender because I still don't have the Letraset paper, and the ink bleeds. That is on my list! To add dimension to this all white card, I embossed the die cuts, and the background. We are allowed to lightly ink our edges, but thought this card didn't need it. I added some shimmery white ribbon to complete it. I love how it looks!! The sentiment is alphabet stickers. So that's my first entry into the world of ProMarkers!! I am quite pleased!! Thank you for stopping in!!

{ippity} color challenge

Happy Thursday! It's my turn to share a DT project on the Get Hippity with Ippity challenge blog! We are following a color challenge from Design Seeds. Not all colors shown are required to use, just at least 2.
I used 2 ippity stamp sets on this card, A Moment in Time, and Love in Return. I love these two sets, and use them in my scrapbooks too!

There is only a few days left to enter our challenge! And as always, there is a free stamp set of your choice up for grabs, and a featured artist spot on the blog!! Tonight there is an ippity release party going on at Splitcoast Stampers, go check it out at 7p.m. and see all the new stamps!

Chevron Paper

I have found a video showing how to make your own chevron paper from various pieces of patterned paper. The video is from Jennifer McGuire on the Studio Calico blog. It is a bit time consuming to create, but the results are fantastic!! My paper is from DCWV, their Linen Closet stack. Just love the colors of these. Mine isn't exactly made like Jennifer's, but it works! The sentiment is from Hero Arts. I am entering this in the CardMaker magazine Challenge Corner. Hope you like the video, and try it out for yourself!!

A Shaped Card

Hello, hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was great! I didn't do any stamping though, but made up for it today! I made this shaped card that is 5 inches square. It is being entered into 2 challenges. The Chick Challenges {with ippity} has us following a sketch(below). I used 2 {ippity} stamp sets, Now and Always, and Sing a New Song. And the other entry is into the Fantabulous Cricut blog where they want to see at least one bow and button. All of the scallop square shapes were cut with the Accent Essentials cartridge. Thanks for looking in!!

DT Color Challenge

Happy Thursday! I have an extra DT post this week cause I'm filling in for Tracey at the Get Hippity with Ippity blog! We have a color challenge for you this time, and you are to use at least 2 of the colors shown. I find it difficult myself to encorporate so many colors into a project sometimes! My card here used most of them, even if just small amounts! I used the new {ippity} release Be Brave...Branch Out, designed by no other than Tracey Malnofski!!

You can see I only stamped about half of this image, it's a large stamp! All cardstock is Stampin Up, and dp is the London Market collection by Pink Paislee. Hope you'll join us for this color challenge!!

Pastel Easter

I was inspired by a few challenges when making this card. First off is the Fantabulous Cricut blog, where we are to use an egg. My bunny and eggs are from the Give a Hoot cartridge, and cut out with Authentique paper. Hence the next challenge blog Authentique Paper, to follow their sketch. I have used 4 different paper pads on this one, Uncommon, Gathering, Splendid, and Blissful. And the last challenge is at The Crafter's Cafe  where we are to use Spring pastel colors. The sentiment and egg background stamps are from Stampendous.Think that about covers it! Thanks for stopping by!

Watercoloring

The challenge this time at the Lawnscaping Challenge Blog is coloring. To color your image with any medium. I have chosen to watercolor, and have used Emily's tutorial on the Denami blog here. I am still in 'practice' mode with this technique, but think my 2 images turned out well! I have used 2 Lawn Fawn stamp sets, Critters in the Forest for the hedgehog or porcupine, and Clear to See for the sentiment. The patterned papers are from Stampin Up. I also wanted to share a very awesome cloud template I found, and the pic below shows it off.
Isn't that just so cool?!! I have used chalk for my clouds, but Bev also has a video for using markers. I had to shrink my template down before printing to get it to the right size, it will depend on what software you use to print it. And I also watercolored the grass background. Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to check out all the links!! Oh! And the Lawnscaping blog has a blog hop starting this Friday, which I am in! Don't miss out!!
