Grateful

Playing along with a sketch challenge today at Splitcoast Stampers forum. I let the matching papers do the work, and added a sentiment from Unity. I put a little wink of stella on the butterflies.

Had to add some twine, and a few matching candy dots.

Thank you for visiting!

Crocheted Hats

Here are a few hats that I have made in the last month.

I found this really cool skulls crochet hat pattern, and just had to make one! I went with girly colors in pink and purple. I thought it came out pretty cute! I posted it on my facebook page, and two people from work asked me to make them one, but they wanted black and white yarn. And here is that version:

I think I like this one better! Both people from work just loved them, and one is even a guy :)

This is another new pattern I found for free. It's a slouchy hat style. I like the different pattern of stitches on this one, and the added buttons!

And this last hat is actually knitted with circular needles. A simple pattern of knit and purl stitches. This one is a tad too small, even for my small head!! I've been trying to adjust the pattern to make it larger in a different type of yarn, but haven't got there yet. Then I came across the skulls beanie, and left this one behind ;)

So, these are the last few hats I've made before the warmer weather gets here. My husband always asks me how many hats do I really need? And my response is, all of them!! My next hat adventure is to sew some. I absolutely love vintage hats from the 20's through the 50's. I scarf them up if I see them at flea markets and antique stores. But, I'd like to make some in velvet, love that fabric!!

Thanks again for visiting!!

Wood Crafts

I don't do as many wood crafts as I used to, me and the saws just don't get along anymore :)

We always get lots of pallets at work, and I took one home awhile ago with the intention of taking it apart and making something with it. Well, the saw just didn't want me messing with it, so I left the pallet intact and painted a flag on it!

I already had some paint here, and I used my star framelits to make a stencil. After letting it dry, I put some water proof sealer over it so I could leave it outside. It now sits on my porch.

The next project was suppose to be an outside bench made with the head and footboard of a bunkbed that someone left at our rental. Well, things weren't going my way again, so I used the slats of the bed and made a star! The pieces are just screwed together at the ends, and I wrapped some rope around them just for decoration. I coated this with water proofing also.

So, those are my two not planned projects I made last week. I am happy with them both despite the troubles I was having :)

Thank you for having a look!

Amazing

Today starts a new week for the color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers, and what happy bright colors to end my month as guest designer! Tempting Turquoise, Tangelo Twist and Whisper White.

A quick card to make with an embossed swirl image and a scattering of punched flowers.

I'll be sharing a few of my non paper crafts projects later today. Haven't been posting much on my blog lately, so I'll share what I've been up to. The weather is warming up here, and I'm eager to start a few flower bed changes. But, I'll have to wait a bit longer!!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Easter Chick

I just love this cute chick from the SU! Honeycomb Happiness set! And it's free during Sale-a-Bration!!!!!

I stamped and colored the image twice, once on the main panel and another on a scrap of watercolor paper. I fussy cut one out to pop up on the main panel that I lightly watercolored the sky and grass. The cute clouds are from the SU! Ronald McDonald Charities stamp set Sprinkles of Life, and the sentiment is from the Crazy About You set.

I sponged a white doily with Blushing Bride ink to add some more pastel tones. The card base has some Chicken Wire stamped on it from a Unity background stamp. I had to add some matching pink twine as well(love twine!)

This card is off in the mail to my Mom. I did stamp a sentiment on the inside along with a row of eggs. I am entering this card into the Double D challenge, which is Easter.

A Chance to Change

This was made for a Unity fb challenge a week or so ago, but I never shared it on my blog. The images are from Unity's monthly kit, and I colored it with alcohol markers, then sponged around it with ink.

The sentiment is stamped and die cut, and the background is a Paper Smooches die cut. It's made to fill a standard A2 size card, but this is a 5x7 size. The large image and sentiment label help fill in the empty space from it. I also stamped a leafy image in the corner to help fill in that blank space from another Unity kit.

Thanks for having a look!!

Birthday Bliss

A new color challenge has been posted this week at Splitcoast Stampers. This time we are to use Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride and Blackberry Bliss with the dessert option of die cuts.

I went all out on the die cuts on this card! Two Spellbinders sets were used on this, stamping on the center one, and a larger one behind it. I wanted to show off each color evenly. The label is another set, and it needed some color behind it, so I put down a little lace trim.

The floral images are from Unity, and sentiment from Stampin Up!

Thank you for visiting me today!!

Mushrooms

I tried the no line watercoloring on this image from Unity Stamp Co. I inked it with Crushed Curry, then colored with Daffodil Delight alcohol markers. Two Letraset ProMarkers were used for the sage color.

I was inspired by Unity's Show and Tell facebook color challenge to use Sage and Mustard. I added a background stamp to the card base and looped linen thread held in place with glue dots. The sentiment was die cut with an Elizabeth Crafts label.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Love Without Limits

Today starts a new Color Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers! We are to use Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, and Crisp Cantaloupe.

I've used this floral image and sentiment from Unity Stamp Co. monthly kit. The flower is colored with ink, and a blender pen onto shimmery White card stock. With the large size of the image and sentiment, I only added a few extra embellishments to keep the focus on them.

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Spring Green

I made this card to join the challenge for Double D's. They have a pretty green color board for inspiration.

I love the fresh, clean look of green and white. Makes me think of everything that comes with Spring! I took at least 5 photos of my card, and just couldn't capture all the greens correctly. My card is much brighter in real life.

The floral image is from the Butterfly Basics Stampin Up set. After stamping, I took a lighter ink and the blender pen to color it in just a little. Then added some Wink of Stella to it.

The sentiment is from the SO this is Love Unity kit, and is punched and surrounded with ribbons and green rhinestones.

Thank you for taking the time to visit, have a creative day!

Bingo Color Challenge

A new color challenge has been posted for this week at Splitcoast Stampers, and it is a super fun one! There is a bingo color board. You get to choose which row of colors to use, and this time there is a prize to be won!! Go check it out, and play along with us!

The colors I've chosen are the four corners, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, and Soft Sky. The pretty designer paper, Love Blossoms, from Stampin Up has close enough colors to the board, so I showed it off by making a multiple layered card.

The sentiment comes from a Unity kit called Undeniably You. I wanted a larger sentiment panel to break up the patterned layers. A few soft sky candy dots added in the blues.

That's all for me today....thank you for visiting, and have a great day!!

Easter is on it's way!

Today I've made a diorama card using a stamp set I received from Joy Clair called Easter Eggs.

I'm joining in the monthly Joy Clair challenge, which they want you to follow this picture board.

Unspecified

I stamped, colored, and fussy cut the chickie and eggs to use as the diorama background. Added a little fringed grass with my scissors. The front was decorated with a few different punched shapes, and the sentiment that comes with the stamp set. Here is another angle of the card:

Joy Clair featured me on their blog last Friday. We were out of town with no internet service, so I got quite a surprise come Monday morning!! They also sent me this stamp set for free. I was/am just so tickled about the whole thing :) Here is the link to my featured post if you'd like to check it out.

Thank you for visiting, and Thank you Joy Clair for the stamp set and challenge!

Birthday Celebration

I'm joining in the monthly Paper Smooches challenge, which is Birthday's. I've chosen the Best Buds stamp set, and stamped, colored, and fussy cut the floral banner image. Alcohol markers were used to color it in. Then stamped the sentiment which is curved to fit the banner.

I also used the PS duo 1 die as a backdrop for the image, keeping white on white for a clean look. A little matching twine was all that I needed for an embellishment.

I am also sending this to the Paper Smooches guest designer search as well.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Color Challenge Guest Designer

Today starts the new month of color challenges at Splitcoast Stampers, and I have been asked to be a Guest Designer. Here is my first card.

The colors to use this week are Real Red, Marina Mist, Pacific Point, and Wild Wasabi. The dessert option is to add floss, ribbon or twine. The link for this week's challenge is here.

I've used a Joy Clair stamp set called Paisley Bouquet. I stamped the wrong side of the flower image first to give it a solid background, then stamped the right side with the darker ink. I also made a mask for the one flower so it wouldn't stamp over each other.

The frames were made with the ovals framelits, and I wrapped some twine around the red one, which is popped up with dimensionals. The card base is stamped with the SU woodgrain background stamp, and I added a few candy dots and rhinestones. The flower centers also have some Wink of Stella on them, but it may not show well in the photo.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I punched it out and attached it to the top. If you'd like to join in this week, click the link above!
