2011 Calendar

Hello everyone! I haven't posted since before Christmas! Wow! I have been crafting though, and I have come across a wonderful template at Splitcoast Stampers. If you would like to download this calendar,  click here. I made this as a prototype for a class I will be having in January. I made it with my new, fantastic, wonderful, amazing Zutter Bind it All!(can ya tell I really like it?!) Anyway, I used some chipboard for the front and back cover. I stamped a background stamp from Unity, all over the front. I added papers, and my tattered florals die flower. The label was made with my top note die, and with a little trick, made it small. I don't have Tim's die, but I'm sure his fancy label is close to the top note die from Stampin Up. When I get ready to have the class for this, I will post it here, and on my Ippity blog. It may have different papers, and color scheme. Have a Happy New Year everyone!!

Christmas Ornaments

I made a couple ornaments today for gifts, and thought I would share them.
They are made with cardboard. These are from  paper packs. The tree pattern I got from a blog, and for the life of me can't find it now! I did save it to my computer, so I can email it if you want it. The tree is about 6 inches tall, and about 4 1/2 inches wide. I cut the cardboard shape, then covered it with patterned paper. Cut into 3 pieces, each being 2 inches. Punch holes with any paper punch, and attach pieces with ribbon.
The snow man was made the same way. I cut 3 circles, 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2"  I stamped on the two pieces, then used a marker for the eyes and nose.
Very quick and easy to do. Would make a cute topper on a gift too!

Jennie's Tag Withdrawl Entry

I made this tag from the inspiration that Jennie posted at the Gingersnaps blog, and am entering it on her blog here !
I used a tag from the office supply store. I do not have the rosette die yet, so I did mine the hard way! I used Stampin Up ink in bordering blue. The swirl stamp is from My Sentiments Exactly, and is embossed in clear. The music score stamp is from Stampin Up. It's a Stampin Around wheel. I used some gold star mini garland, and gold wire trim for the top of the tag. Jennie said she wants to see everyones take on her tag, so here is mine!

CCC #24 Entry

This week's challenge at Linda's blog is all about sparkle. And it's been snowing here the past few days, and with the upcoming holiday, the timing is perfect! I did a tag because tis the season! And to go along with the snow here, I did a snowman one. The stamp is from Stampin Up, as is the music notes. The sentiment stamp is My Sentiments Exactly. I embossed the snowman with Ranger's embossing powder, and used vintage photo DI all over the tag. Then at last came the sparkle! Which I spread all over the tag. I decided to use gold ribbon to match the brown ink. Check out the L3 blog here for all the other great entries for this challenge! It'll sure put a 'twinkle' in your eye!

CCC Double Distress

Here is my double distress entry at Linda's Studio L3 blog. Click here to enter and see all the other entries! All stamps used are Stampin Up! I should use Tim's stamps since these challenges are from his book, but I don't have any! I just started to use his products this summer, so I'm slowly starting to build up my stash. I used tattered rose powder, and distress inks in tattered rose, forrest moss, and vintage photo. I tried different papers for this technique, and decided on the patterned paper. I turned it into a book mark, I'm at bit burned out on Christmas cards already!!!

Ginersnaps Blog Stitches Challenge

You have to encorporate stitches into your project for this challenge. Click here for the details and to enter! I decided to use real stitching, so I got my sewing machine out. Wow, was it dusty, and buried! So, I cleaned it all off and got my scrap paper ready to adjust the zig zag stitches. I turned it on and the noise it made was awful! I thought it was froze up from not being used in so long! After a few hand cranks of the wheel, she was off and running! I actually got the stitching done in one try! I'm glad my sewing machine and I are still friends! I decided to use this snowman stamp because it is stitched all around. That worked well! Also my new Unity sentiment stamp also has a touch of stitching to it! Why doesn't every project come together like this!:) The blue twill tape around the snowman is a new technique I tried, and it looks fairly well. I like the ruffled look. I wanted layers on this card, so I embossed the white cardstock before stitching it to the brown, then the ruffled snowman, and I put thick pop dots on the ticket for more dimension. I had alot of fun with this one, but it did take me an hour and a half to do!! I needed a break from making Christmas cards, and I enjoy winter cards more! Sorry for rambling on, now go check out the other entries!

Dezinaworld Everyone Wins Challenge!

This is what I made for this challenge using Dezinaworld images. The small tag and house were used on this tag. I also used a sizzix die for the tree made from chipboard, and sprayed it with glimmer mist. The pleated ribbon is from May Arts, and also the music background stamp is from Victorine Originals. Check out June's blog for more! http://dezinaworld.blogspot.com/

CCC Alcohol Ink Splatter

Here is my entry this week at Linda's blog http://studiol3.blogspot.com/ This technique is fun to do, because you always get a different effect. I chose not to use it as a background, but send it through the tattered florals die. I made a card, and used the new music texture fade. The letters are cut from my sizzix also, and sprayed with green glimmer mist. I love sparkle! The colors of alcohol inks I used were, lettuce, eggplant, stonewashed, and cranberry.

Gingersnaps Haute Couture-My glamour Gal!

Here is my entry for the challenge over at the Gingersnaps blog. http://gingersnapcreations.blogspot.com/
It's all about fashion. I have never made anything like this before, but it was quite fun! I felt like I was in a Claudine Hellmuth class! I dug out some of my sewing supplies to jazz up my catwalk. I suppose anything is possible when doing a collage! And yes, she's armless on purpose!! Check out their blog to join in! A thank you goes out to Linda for posting this on her Studio L3 blog! Or I wouldn't have had so much fun making this!!

Drunken Stampers Challenge Entry

I am entering the challenge this week at the drunken stampers blog. You have to use your paper punches!
http://drunkenstampers.wordpress.com/ This one was fun and easy for me. When I started making cards, I used alot of my punches, and sizzix dies. They have been neglected I must say lately. This was good for me to get them out and make this card. I used five different punches on this, and an embossing folder! The ink on the edges is colorbox chestnut, I think that's it's name :)  And the stamp is from Unity Stamp Co. It was actually a freebie that comes with this months Paper Crafts Magazine! Cool huh?! I love using the light blue and brown for winter cards and layouts!

CCC Industrial Grunge

Here is my take on this week's challenge at Linda's blog http://studiol3.blogspot.com/
I'm not real happy with the way this turned out, I used so many colors on the flowers to get it the way I wanted, but the scratching looks bad. I had to use the new Holtz texture fade I pre-ordered months ago, which I love, but it even needs something else. Maybe the black ink is too much, I don't know. My inking mojo has been lost this week, I've had too much on my mind. I like working with grunge, so maybe I'll get this technique down another day! There are so many wonderful entries this week, so head over and check them out!
I wanted to add to this post-thank you Terry for the comment! I am my own worst critic! After a few days, I looked back at this piece, and it's not so bad! I do like the texture fade background, and the colors of my flower. Sorry for sounding so negative, I've had a bad couple of weeks. Things are looking up, and I will keep on crafting. I am so glad I found Linda's blog a few months ago. There are a lot of talented people over there, and I truly enjoy looking at everyones take each week! Thanks for stopping in and leaving me comments!

Studio L3 challenge-CCC

Well, here's my take on this technique for this week's challenge. http://studiol3.blogspot.com/  It looks pretty good for never having done this before. I must have had a good vibe today, cause I didn't have to make three before getting one good one! I was careful with my mask as not move it around at all! Which is a sizzix yellow die that I used for the image. The blue ink is from Stampin Up!(have no blue distress ink) I know, shame on me! I did use black soot at the bottom of the tag, along with the sentiment. I used a glue pen around all the edges to adhere the silver glitter. I'll attach this to someone's gift this Christmas!

Drunken Stampers Challenge Entry Halloween

Here is my entry for the Halloween Drunken Stampers challenge this week. http://drunkenstampers.wordpress.com/ The stamp is from Stampin Up! the set is so cute, they remind me of the Campbells soup kids. I colored her in with colored pencils, then used a blender pen. I added black glitter to her shoes. I made 4 of these, so I also made this little box for them. The letters are from sizzix die. I distressed it all some, and the background paper is from Creative Memories. Can't wait to take my little guy trick or treating in a few days!

CAARDVARKS inside and out entry

I decided to join in on the decorate your card inside and out challenge over at the caardvarks blog! http://www.caardvarks.blogspot.com/ I went with a Christmas theme again using this cool velvet paper! It is die cut with the tattered florals die, and the leaves are from quickutz. I love this paper! Inside I used another sizzix strip die, and also used the extra pieces on the sides to make a frame. The sentiment I printed onto thick vellum made for inkjet printers. I will definately have to get more colors of this velvet paper! And another note, this card is unlike me, because I didn't use any stamps!! I did not have the proper sentiment stamp for this card!! Sometimes you just have to go outside the stamp!

L3 Challenge-Dabber Resist

Here is my entry for this weeks challenge at the l3 blog! http://studiol3.blogspot.com/
I used cranberry paint dabber on my new stampin up! background stamp. I also used forrest moss, and vintage photo distress ink. Black soot ink was used on the edge to make it stand out a bit. The ribbon came from my unused sewing supplies, it's a fancy trim of some sort, but looks great with my vintage look card! I also used glossy accents on the 25 to add some dimension. I think this one will go to my Mom since she likes the vintage victorian look!

Wonderful use for stickers!

These are just the most fun stickers I've ever used! I love that they give a stained glass effect. I used gel roller pens to color these in. On the snowmen, I put glossy accents on top to give them an enameled look. I also used a glue pen, and fine glitter for the background on one. There are tons of different styles of these stickers, and each sheet is less than $2.00! The snowmen are Elizabeth Craft Design stickers, and the flowers are Sticker King(or tattoo king). For anyone who hasn't tried these, the effects are amazing! And who doesn't like coloring?!

Gift Card Holder

I saw a video on youtube for making these gift card holders. They were made by a Stampin Up! demonstrator. So, of course I had to try it! And they are really easy and quick! There are two pockets on the inside, one for the gift card, and one for a note card. The pockets are made from an envelope cut in half! Here is a link for anyone wanting the instuctions!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnTgz8SS5FY

L3 Challenge-Wrinkle Free Distress

I made this card for this week's challenge at the L3 blog http://www.studiol3.blogspot.com/
I used the new Unity Stamp Itty Bitty Songbird on the wrinkle free distress background. Made a rosette, and used clock numbers for the 25. You can find this stamp at my store! Click on the link at the bottom of this page.

Studio L3 challenge

Here is an altered mini book I made for the challenge at Studio L3 http://studiol3.blogspot.com/
Agate background technique on grungepaper. I made the journey tag with my metal alpha stamps, and made the chain and hung it from a brad. I used ribbons to tie the book, but also added hitch fasteners. The stamps are from Stampin Up! 2005

Matchbook

Here is a cute Matchbook candy favor. I saw a video on You Tube. It's very easy, and so cute! I used an owl cling stamp that I have, and made them in a Fall theme. Here are the directions! Start with a 5 3/8" x 1 3/4" piece of cardstock. Score at 1 3/4", 2 1/4". Then score the other end at 3/4". I used the large Creative Memories circle punch for the shapes. I think they are 1 1/4" and 1 1/2". Cut a small piece of printed paper the same width (1 3/4") by 3/4" and adhere to front. Adhere circles. You can staple the small flap at the bottom, or use a ribbon slot punch, and tie a knot with the ribbon to the front and back of the matchbook. Tape individually wrapped lifesavers to the inside!

Fall

Fall is quickly approaching, and I was inspired by the cool air to make this 6x6 page. I used Sizzix dies, and the map background stamp I sell at my store. Of course I distressed everything (my fav new technique!) You should check out Tim Holtz's techniques. They are easy, and add dimension.http://www.timholtz.com/
As we pull out our long pants and sleeves, take time to create something to remind us of this beautiful season! Get those fingers dirty!!

Paper Bag Albums

I have made these cute little scrapbooks made from paper lunch bags! They are very easy to make and I have a link for the tutorial for the one at the top from youtube. It's better than my version, because it is expandable. And of course the paper flowers that everyone is making these days! Hope this inspires some of you to try these out! They make great gifts!
