Ice Cream

Ice Cream in Summer is the perfect treat, no matter which flavor you choose! These cute images are one stamp from a Unity kit of the month. Instead of coloring them all in, I went with a soft background for each using Distress Oxide ink.(which is becoming a favorite of mine!)

After the piece was all dry, I die cut it and the background layer with my C.C. Designs dies. The sentiment was a free gift with purchase stamp from Unity. It goes perfectly with these ice cream images. I punched it out with a Stampin' Up! tag punch and added a few enamel dots.

I made this card for a friend because she really is much cooler than me! :)

Thank you for having a look!

Tags for a Friend

I'm joining the monthly challenge at Joy Clair, where they always have and Anything Goes theme. Their DT is sharing 'some of my favorites', so I'm using some of my favorite stamp sets from Joy Clair.

The sweet girl is from the Let's Celebrate set. It's a birthday themed set, with cute balloons, sentiments, and fun accent images. I only used the Girl on this card. I colored her with my Tombow markers onto Bristol 300 series paper. I chose some girly papers from C.C. Designs along with their tags dies. I just layered them up and stamped the sentiment from the Joy Clair Bandana Bits onto another small tag and added some pretty ribbon to it.

I also added a few enamel dots for accents. A perfect card to send to just say Hi. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Patterns and Color

Sharing a card I made for the Paper Smooches July challenge, which is Anything Goes.

I stamped and colored the flowers from the PS Best Buds set with various alcohol markers. I fussy cut them all out, and used the PS Crystal Clear 1 jar die to put them in. I chose this swirly paper for the jar, and it wasn't until I had everything put together that I thought it's kind of funky looking. Bright colors, and bold patterns in the paper and washi tapes at the bottom, just doesn't appeal to my style. But it is what it is!

I stamped the sentiment from the Lovely Thoughts set with Oxide ink, matching the flowers as closely as I could to try and tie it together.

Thanks for visiting!

Pop of Color

The new challenge at Double D's is Black and White with a pop of color:

I decided to join in and use this retired paper from Stampin' Up! that I've been hoarding :) It's so pretty, and lends itself to be colored in or not. So, following the them, I colored the roses with my new Copic set. I also added just a few hints of green by just tracing the outline of the leaves and vines.

The sentiment is also retired from a Stampin' Up! stamp set, but goes perfectly with this card. No embellishments is needed, the roses are all the focus.

Thank you for having a look!

For the Boys

I recently added some Boy images to my stamp collection. This is from C.C. Designs called, Four Seasons Boys. There is four different seasonal images that are in this set. I chose the Summer image, and colored him following the CAS on Friday challenge which the theme is Primary Colors.

He is colored with my Spectrum markers, and die cut with a C.C. Designs die. I added in a little more color with pattern papers, and the sentiment comes from a Paper Smooches set called Knick Knacks. One enamel dot on it's banner and done. I enjoyed coloring him up, but it was odd to not add pretty, Girly embellishments....lol

Thank you so much for visiting!

Journal Page

Sharing a page I made for my journal. The kraft paper background was packing material in an order I got, it makes perfect background layers. I used my Unity kit of the month to stamp all the images.

These cute birds are water colored with my new Gamsi set. It's my first time using 'real' water colors, so they will take some getting used to. The birdies are up to your imagination to make them into whatever you like, I love that about stamps like this.

I added some washi tape borders to the page, and glued the birds down. I didn't want any other embellishments on this, just the stamped images. A cute page with another great encouraging sentiment.

Thanks for your visit!

Marker Coloring on Bristol Paper

I ordered a new paper pad for my marker coloring, and these are some samples I did. The paper is Bristol Smooth 300 Series in 100 lb. I am very happy with this new to me paper. I didn't get any bleeding from coloring, and the Tombow sample I did was quite wet, and the paper didn't pill either. So it's better than any other paper I've ever used.

I also finally broke down and bought a 6 pack of Copic markers in the Floral Favorites. And I have to say that I like them way more than my Spectrum markers! The brush tip is fantastic, and they seem to blend so much better. I started my alcohol marker coloring with Letraset years ago, then bought all of the Spectrum marker packs. The price of them is very inexpensive, but now that I've used the Copic one's, I think it's going to be hard to switch back! :) Now I need to get a flesh tones pack and see how I like coloring faces!

You can see in my samples that I got way more definition from the Copic markers. The Spectrum markers just gives more of a blended look. The bottom sample is colored with my Tombow dye ink markers. I love these better than any other dye marker I own. They really do blend well, I just don't have many colors of them(for now!) :)

The floral stamps I used are from Altenew, and are from the Garden Treasures set. This is a layering stamp set, but I only used the outline images. They have some beautiful stamp sets, and I'm sure I will be getting a few more.

So that's my take on this paper, and the different markers used. Hopefully this paper will be around for awhile and not get discontinued, or I'll have to start all over again!! Thanks so much for your visit!

Blog Hoppin' with Unity

I'm taking part in the Growing In Unity Blog Hop today. I've used the Unity Stamp Co kit called Girl Truly. It's one of their monthly sentiment kits. I inked the large flowers and leaves with Distress Oxide inks. The sentiment is inked with Black Versafine, and is popped up with foam tape. I added some washi and a few enamel dots for accents. A quick card to put together, and the flowers are so pretty, they really don't need colored in.

If you would like to follow along the hop, the previous stop is Sandra, and the next stop is Amy. Or, you can see the full list at the Unity blog.

Thanks for hopping with us!

CAS Flower

Finally getting around to playing with my Unity Stamp Co. June kit of the month. I stamped this large flower twice on two different pattern papers from C.C. Designs, and stamped the leaves onto some soft green paper from Your Next Stamp.

I fussy cut them all out, and decided to put the lavender one on top. I highlighted the stamens with a white gel pen. The sentiment is from the Unity kit Constance Girl. It's all glued down to a lavender card base.

I am entering this into the CAS on Friday challenge, with their theme of Flowers. Thank you for having a look!
