Gingersnap Coffee & Cream Entry

Another challenge for the hot beverage month over at the Gingersnap Creations Blog! This time it's all about using the colors coffee and cream! I used to not be a fan of brown, until a few years back when brown was making it's comeback in fashion, home decor, and crafts. It's definately not the brown color combos from the 70's! I love browns, tans, mixed with blues, pinks, and turquoise. But this time we can only use cream with brown, and to me it says elegant. I made a card base with brown, and stamped the swirl MSE stamp with brown pigment ink and embossed with clear. I love stamping on patterned paper, and my new Basic Grey was used here. I used my spellbinders dies for the labels, and the sentiment is from Unity stamped with the same brown ink. The ribbon and twine is from May Arts. Love their ribbons! So head over to Gingersnap Creations and check out everyone's art! Thanks for stopping by!

Ippity Workshop projects

Here are the projects for February. Check my Get Ippity blog for more info!

C of C #29 Entry

Weathered wood is the technique this week at Linda's StudioL3 Blog go check it out! I only have 4 of Tim's texture fades, so I chose the Bingo card for this one. I think it came out well this time. The label at the bottom was cut with my spellbinders die, and weathered it too. The sentiment is one from my Ippity set. I made the chain links with some wire I had. The butterflies were added for color. They were made with AI on glossy cardstock. Stamped with another Ippity stamp, and cut them out, and used glossy accents to attach them to the 'wood'! I used vintage photo color on everything. There are already lots of cool artwork posted, so go have a look!

Under the Sea Dezinaworld Spot Prize Challenge!

June's theme this week for her challenge is under the sea. Click here for all the details, and see everyone else's art. Art. Now, that word to me makes me think of painters, people who can draw, do collages, and 3d objects. This piece I made is as close to art as I get. I don't think of myself as an artist. I am an advanced paper crafter! Some blogs I follow have some real artists for sure, and I love seeing their work! This pop up card took me 2 hours to make, and kind of reminds me of a kids project! All the sea creatures are stampin up stamps that my sister in law gave me, and have never used! I colored each one in with markers, and cut them out. I do love the ocean background. I used alcohol ink in stonewashed, pearl mixative, and a stampin up reinker. It came out well! The rest? Well just interpet as you will. Can't wait to see what everyone else makes over there. Their are some very good digital artists! Go check it!

Gingersnaps Redhead Challenge

Gingersnaps blog challenge is tea bag folding. I've never done this type and it's quite simple. Click here to get more info, and the template! I used double sided paper on mine, and with cotton candy stickles, followed the pattern of the paper. This did wrinkle up the paper some since it's not heavyweight. I cut two labels from my spellbinders die, and stamped with one of my Ippity stamps. I used pop dots on the back of the label, so the flap tucks behind it. And what a better gift to a friend than putting a stamp inside! I taped a piece of clear plastic to the inside so the cling stamp would cling! If the paper hadn't wrinkled I would have stamped the inside, so I left it plain. Can't wait to see everyone else's bags!

ccc #28 fragments!

Well, this one was really fun! I had to go to our local Jo-Ann's and get the fragments, cause I've not used these, only memory glass. They were on clearance there! As was some of Tim's other items! I hope they are making room for new stuff, and not quit selling it! So, anyway, I got busy with these fun little things, and as I was working I thought it would be nice to make myself some wearable art. And I love the sound they make when they clang(is that a word?!) together! I used cranberry, meadow, and eggplant AI. I have trouble with my Archival ink drying on plastic or acetate. The only color I have is green, so maybe the black only works, or this is old ink. But it dried some, and made it work for me. Check Linda's blog here for info on entering, or checking out all the other amazing art this week!!

Better late than never for the CCC challenge!

Well, I made it! Barely. Masking is not my better skill, so I've put it off till today! I did achieve to do a scrapbook page with this technique! Check Linda's blog here to see what it's all about! And, honestly, I have none of Tim's masks, no reinkers, so I made do with what I have. The stencil is from Tattered Angels, and I used a discontinued Stampin Up reinker. A little smooch spritz also joined the mix. There are 2 pics because my husband has my camera out ice fishing today, so I had to scan in my 12x12 page. It came out pretty good though, and I'll put it into the scrapbook that only my 4 year old and I look at!!
Time to check out everyone else's art!

Dezinaworld Spot Prize Challenge

This is a card I made for June's challenge at Dezinaworld The hat and heart images are hers from the Steampunk collection. The theme is magic, so I went with a magical Valentine card. I died the white lace red with pigment ink. The love text background stamp is a Victorine Originals. The sentiment are stickers. I pop dotted the heart, and added some red gems. Check her blog to enter, and see all the other artwork!

Gingersnap Creations Color Challenge Entry

Well, with the help of others' New Years resolutions, I really need to scrapbook more! Most of last year I made a lot of cards, tags, and other crafty creations for blog challenges. So I thought since I'm entering all these challenges, why not do a scrapbook page instead?! That way I can get caught up, and have a theme for each page! This layout is my entry at the Gingersnap blog for using Mahogany, Pine, and Snow colors. Click here to see this challenge! This is a picture of our Dog Chief. He's almost 2 years old, and is a Shepard/St. Bernard mix. He's 45" tall at the top of his head! Big, loving, and friendly! So this is my start to catching up on my scrapbooks, it's an 8x8 page.(starting small!) On to my son's 12x12 next time!

CCC #26 Somewhat Rusted Grunge!

This week's challenge at Linda's blog is rusted grunge. Click here to visit her blog!
Well, I don't have the right color for this technique, but I made do, and entered anyway! I can't give any details about the technique, per rules of the challenge! But I used my new Unity stamps, isn't the owl a hoot?! I stamped the image, then colored them in with pencils. Used some red stickles here and there, and the paper is from K&Company. My rusted piece is the arrow, and if you check the other entries, you will see it's a much different color! Oh well, not complaining. Click the link above to see everyone's art this week!
