Stay Cozy

So yesterday it was 50 degrees here, and today it is 25 and blowing snow. Crazy weather for sure!! I think the 'All Wrapped Up' theme at The Paper Shelter is in order!! Make something that you interpret to be wrapped up. I think this cute Marker Guru freebie looks wrapped up and cozy to me! I colored her with my watercolor pencils and blending stump. I kept the card CAS to make her the main focal point. I did clear emboss some Unity Stamp Co. snowflakes on the background, and the sentiment is a partial saying from Hero Arts. Thanks for stopping in for a look!

Moose-ing You

Today I sat down and thought I was going to make a little scene card with this Papertrey Ink stamp set. Well, so much for that! I am trying to fit the theme at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge, which is paper piecing. Well, the moose got paper pieced with Basic Grey papers, and I gave up on the whole 'scene' idea!! I made this polaroid digi stamp myself and printed it off onto some Pink Paislee map paper. The sign and sentiment was paper pieced onto some Bazzill patterned paper. All set with the paper piecing!! The woodgrain paper is Authentique and the green paper is again from Pink Paislee. I am happy with this cute instant camera picture!! Thank you for stopping by my blog!!

So this is Love

Happy Friday!! This week I am joining everyone on the Unity blog for Friends with Flair day! You can upload and share your Unity projects, and have a chance at winning a prize too! This card uses the cutest Phyllis Harris image, which I colored in with watercolor pencils. The sentiment is from an ippity by Unity set and I thought went perfectly. Since what little girl doesn't just love her teddy bears?! I know I did(and still do!) The patterned papers are from Basic Grey and Cosmo Cricket. Thanks so much for visiting!!

Sweet Summer

The theme this week at Passion for Promarkers challenge, is to use your favorite color combo. Mine change with each season, and since this sweet The Paper Shelter image is Summer themed, my favorite color combo is orange and yellow. He is colored in with my ProMarkers of course, and is surrounded by Samantha Walker digital papers. The sentiment is from Hero Arts, and I love to punch them out and place them sideways on a card. It gives just a bit more visual interest! Thanks for having a look today!!

Be My Valentine + Tutorial

Happy cold Tuesday to you! Yes, it is very cold where I live today. I'm keeping our wood stoves red hot! My card today has a short tutorial to go along with it. My images that I used are freebie digi stamps from Paper Smooches. I am new to them, and I don't have any actual stamps of theirs, so I am using a freebie. I love open image designs because they are fun to paper piece. But a digi stamp?! No problem! First, print off your digi's onto the card stock. I used Microsoft Digital Image Pro software for mine, but use whatever you have.
Next, lay a piece of copy paper on top of the card stock. You will be able to see the printed image through the copy paper. Cut your patterned paper(stampin up used here) slightly larger than the image you want, and adhere with repositional adhesive.
Run through printer.
Remove the pieces, and adhere another piece of patterned paper, run through printer. I wanted a 'girl' and a 'boy' heart, so I used two different patterns.
You now have your printed pieces to cut out and adhere to your card! Easy Peasy! I am going to give this to my husband, so I added some hemp twine at the bottom for a bit more rustic feel. I am sending this card to the Paper Smooches Be Our Guest, where you have a chance to be a guest designer on their blog. Thanks so much for stopping in, and hope you try out the digi paper piecing!!

Sweet Puppy

This cute puppy digi stamp is a freebie from The Alley Way Stamps. I colored him with my ProMarkers, then cut him out and used foam tape to adhere him to the card. I was inspired by The Alley Way Stamps BE Inspired challenge when I first started to make this card, but that challenge is now over :( BUT luckily, their next challenge has similar colors! So, I was still able to use this card for the next challenge!!
The sentiment is also a freebie of theirs. I added the flowers and leaves to fill in some of the blank space, even though it doesn't match the pic above. Oh well, I hope it will be okay!! Thank you for looking!

Warm Winter Wishes

I love snowmen! Even if it means cold weather and messy roads! I colored this digi stamp by Traci Malnofski, with my ProMarkers. I am getting a little better with the whole shading thing! Paper punches from Stampin' Up!, and Martha Stewart, and a few blue rhinestones. I am entering this into two challenges, Passion for ProMarkers where the theme is 'whatever the weather'. And also to The Paper Shelter where the theme is 'winter blues'. Thank you for stopping today, and hope you are staying warm!!

A Tiny Washi

So I spent hours yesterday playing with ink and paint trying to make my own washi tape with tissue paper. After spending all that time this is what my results were. It's easy to stamp and paint the tissue paper, but attaching it was my downfall. I ruined almost every piece I made because I kept tearing it. Then it hit me, duh, put your adhesive on the cardstock first, then lay the tissue on top. No more tearing! Anyway, these two tapes were both stamped with Stampin' Up! dye inks, and Unity stamps. This card is a mere 3"x3" because I am playing along with the Moxie Fab World's 75 Creative Card Challenges, to make an itty bitty card.
And this card also happens to fit the theme at the Simon Says Stamp Challenge, which is to use washi tape! Thank you for stopping in, and for your comments!

Sew Thankful

This week at The Play Date Cafe, they have a fun color story to follow, Cadet Blue, Chartreuse, and Leather.
My card design was inspired by one of their DT members Rachel, for her card this week. I like the simplicity of the shapes, and clean design. My papers are a mix from Teresa Collins, Bazzill, Pink Paislee, and Stampin Up. My paper punch is a long retired one from Creative Memories. The sentiment is sew cute, and is from Stampabilities. A bit of stitching and twine finished it off. There is a super prize up for grabs for this challenge, so go check it out!!

Love is in the Air

It's that time for Valentine's Day cards again! I'm getting a head start! The papers I used on this are all digital that I changed two of them to black and white before printing them off. This card is a bit too busy to me, different than what I usually make. But it will have to do! I punched out the heart and stamped it with two different Unity stamps, and the sentiment is from Hampton Art. I am entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge where the theme is Black & White + Splash of color. Thanks for looking!

Is it Spring Yet?!

Wishful thinking of me to hope for Spring already! But in the heart of winter, this was a cheerful card to make! The patterned paper and sentiment is from the Springtime collection by Echo Park, flowers from my stash, and cardstock from Bazzill. Just a quick post from me today as I have to start sterilizing my house so I don't get what my son and dh have!! I am entering this card into two challenges, The Crafter's Cafe-anything goes, and The Paper Shelter-flower extravaganza. Both of which I haven't entered for awhile! Thanks for stopping by to have a look!

Something Else I Do

Other than paper crafts, I love to crochet and even do some knitting. Mostly in the winter months. I have made several hats and scarves, stuffed toys, afghans, and such, but this year I wanted to try and make something different. So, on the Lion Brand Yarn website you can access lots of free patterns and I found this very easy crocheted wristers pattern. Now I have knitted a pair of these before but I much prefer crochet, I am much faster at it! Both pairs use the same pattern and hook, but as you can see, they are different lengths. That's only because the weight of the yarn is different. But I am very pleased with the way they both have turned out. If you dabble in crochet at all, take a look at all the patterns Lion Brand Yarn has to offer. My blog friend Beth has some lovely crochet items she shared on her blog, and has also introduced me to even more free patterns at Ravelry! No paper crafted project to share today, just my hand warmers! Thanks for having a look!

A Winter Greeting

Happy New Year everyone!! Things are back to their normal routine around our place, and I'm happy to have the day off, and be alone!! It's been a few weeks that I've had 'me' time! :) It's winter card making time for me, and I usually lean towards blues and kraft for my colors. But I threw in some pink on this card, and am loving the colors together!! I used 3 different stamp companies on this card, Market Street Stamps Funky Herringbone background, Stampin Up's Greeting of the Season set, and a freebie winter wishes stamp from Unity. I embellished this card with Cuttlebug and Sizzix embossing folders, and a Spellbinders die set. The inside I punched a border with a Stampin Up punch.
I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog where the theme is anything goes. Thanks for stopping in, and have a super weekend!
