Petite Petals and Stampin' Up! Celebrates World Card Making Day!!

Hi There! Today's card is one I cased from a fellow demo, but used different colors, and a few different stamp sets. I stamped a piece of Whisper White with the retired Weathered background stamp in Smokey Slate, then punched and sponged each one. I added a few of the Itty Bitty Accents flower punch as well. I think it's a pretty layout, and perfect colors for Fall!

Now onto the Sale!! To celebrate World Card Making Day this Saturday, Stampin' Up! has put some items on sale at a 15% discount!! Here is the flyer:

There is envelopes, cardstock packs, stamp sets, ink pads, and adhesive on sale now through October 6th!! I know I need to get some more cardstock, ink colors, and adhesive!! Creative Blog Hop

I was invited by my Stampin' Up! upline, Holly, to join the Creative Blog Hop. The hop includes all sorts of blogs from many different types of arts and crafts. You can do a search online and look at all the different blogs that have been involved. I can't tell you where it begins, ends, or even started!! It just keeps going week after week!

Ok, so on to the info I'm suppose to share. There are 4 questions to answer. 1st one is 'What am I working on now?'
I've been working on these cute purse treat holders for the Girls at work for their Halloween gift. A Fun Size candy bar will fit in them. I saw a video on YouTube for them from France Martin. She is a fellow demonstrator. If you would like to look this project up, just type in her name in the search bar on the YouTube site.

The next question is 'How does my work differ from others?'
I can't really answer that!! LOL I don't have just one style. I am an eclectic paper crafter. I like all sorts of styles, just like my home decor!!

'Why do I create what I do?'
Because I have always been crafty my whole life. From coloring when I was a little girl, to learning how to crochet from my Moma(grandmother). Quilting and sewing were a big part of my life too. But I don't get to my sewing machine that much any more, paper crafting has taken over!! Although, I did have to alter every pair of my son's pants for school this year!! So my sewing machine came in handy!

The last question is 'How does my creative process work?'
When I am creating something totally my own, I usually will have a stamp set or designer paper picked out that I want to use. Then just go with it. Add this, take away that, add some more until I'm happy with it. I'm not much concerned about color choices, because I know that all Stampin' Up! colors work together, and I totally love that!!

So, thanks to Holly, for asking me to join the hop!! I don't have anyone to send you off to, but do a search on the hop and you'll see all sorts of crafty goodness!! Thanks for stopping by!

Flowery Friends

I still don't have my camera, but I took some pics with my phone, and they're not too bad! This card uses my favorite color combo, brown and blue. Chocolate Chip and Pool Party in Stampin' Up! colors.

I stamped the leafy border from the photopolymer set Bordering Blooms in chocolate chip, and punched some matching flowers from the Pansy punch and Petite Petals punch. I had a scrap piece that I had stamped with the Dictionary background stamp, and punched a few flowers out with that as well. For a little accent, I punched the small flowers in Pool Party from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack.

The sentiment is from the Peace, Love, and Cupcakes set, which I layered with oval punches. A little twine, and a few scattered pearls added the finishing touch.

I may have to use my phone for taking pics a little while longer. But it isn't good for taking videos!! Thanks so much for having a look!!

Stampin' Up! News

My son dropped my camera, and messed up the lens, so I had to order another one. Until I get my new one, I won't be posting any new pics. But, I will share today some promotions that Stampin' Up! has going on right now.

The Holiday Catalog is out. I have a link on my sidebar that you can view the whole thing! Some really great items for Fall, Halloween, and Christmas. I haven't picked out any Christmas stuff yet, just don't want to think of that yet!! LOL

Here are the newest photopolymer stamp sets that have been released:

Stampin' Up!'s photopolymer stamps are awesome!! They pick up ink very well, without pooling up like some stamps do. Especially with SU!'s new foam pads!!

Every week Stampin' Up! also has a Weekly Deal, where they put certain items on sale! They are discounted quite a bit!!

They have added some new items to the Clearance Rack as well! I love shopping the clearance rack! I mentioned that in my last video!! These are retired items that are deeply discounted! Bonus!!

SU! also has a monthly kit club called Paper Pumpkin. The kits arrive in the mail once a month, and include stamps, ink, paper, embellishments, and each month is different. The kits make cards to boxes, and everything in between. I also have a link to this on my sidebar if you would like to read more about it.

You can check all the happenings going on by clicking on my Stampin' Up! Site at my side bar, then click on the Shop link at the top.

That's all I have for you today! I hope to be up and running with pictures soon!!

A Happy Hello

Hello, and Happy Friday! I've been a bit behind on my blogging this week, but I have been crafting! The card I'm sharing today is another I made for Holly's online class. It uses just two stamp sets, Gorgeous Grunge, and Four You for the sentiment. I've used a few retired items on this card, an embossing folder, and the border punch. I just read there are some new items that have been added to Stampin' Up!'s clearance rack!! I love the clearance rack!!! Discounted retired items are always up my alley!! I know I'm suppose to promote new Stampin' Up! merchandise, but sometimes you just can't pass up a bargain!!! So I'm off to check that out!

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a great weekend!!

Pretty Halloween

I have another card that I made for Holly's online class. I can't share what the challenge was, but I can share that she made the prettiest Halloween cards I've seen! So I thought I would try to make a 'pretty' one too for some of the grown ups.

I stamped both background papers, used two retired border punches on them, and layered the punched bird on top. I gave the bird an orange eye by coloring a rhinestone with the Blendabilities alcohol markers.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Fussy Cut Border

The card I'm sharing today is something new that I tried. I stamped a piece of white card stock then glued it to a card front, then fussy cut around the flowers to have the black base show behind it. I think it looks pretty good, and don't know why I haven't tried this before!!

Just a quick post today, as I'm off to work, thanks for having a look!!

Getting Ready For Fall

Hello! Even though I'm not ready for Fall to arrive, my paper crafting is! Today's card is one I made for my Upline Holly's Online Class called, Fall Fest. There is a banner and link on my sidebar if you would like to check it out! There will be six days of projects with videos, downloadable PDF's, and prizes!

I can't share what challenge this card was made from, but I can share that I'm very pleased with it!! Some of the cards and projects I share I'm not real happy with, but I share them anyway. I've used the retired Sweater Weather(love it) designer papers on this, along with current stamps and embellishments. I totally love the little wood leaves that are in the Holiday Catalog, so I've used them here. I'm not good at collage at all, but I like how all the paper layers give that effect here!

Thanks for stopping by today, and don't forget to check out the info for Holly's class! Have a great day!

CASE-ing

Happy Labor Day! The card I'm sharing today I cased from two different cards. Being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, we get a special demo only magazine each month or so, and there are lots of sample cards showcasing stamp sets and dies. I liked the circle die cut with our framelits, and also the stamping of the new set For All Things. So this my version of the two cards.

I'm hoping to get a video done this week!! I have an extra day off, and I'll be all alone!! :)
Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!!
