Tree Carved Valentine

I made this a few days ago following a color challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I had the idea to make a card that looked liked a tree carving. I've done this when I was young thinking our names would be forever carved in that tree! :)

I used the woodgrain embossing folder in Mint Macaron and brushed over it with Chocolate Chip ink. I did use my circle embossing diffuser on the one side where the hearts would go. And they are punched out with dsp and a piece of scrap Strawberry Slush.

The sentiment I made with the alphabet letters from the Joy Clair Paper Tattoos stamp set, and punched it out with the word window punch.

A little matching twine and sequins for the accents. That's all for me today, thank you for having a look!

Colored Glitter Paper

I love to color glitter paper with alcohol markers. You can make any color you want! I used the butterfly thinlits, and die cut one with red foil paper, then one with white glitter paper. I used a black Letraset Promarker onto the glitter paper. It doesn't make a solid black, almost like irridescent, very cool!

Just a little stamping on this and some red foil punched hearts. A simple, but sparkly Valentine.

Thank you for having a look!

Sweet Valentiine

For this card I used the La La Land Snowflake Garland Marcy, but I covered the snowflakes with punched hearts for a different look. I also paper pieced her dress with some SU! Valentine paper.

I also gave coloring black hair another go. I'm happy with how hers came out. I only have two gray alcohol markers and a black, so shading was a bit tricky. After it was dry, I did go back over the braids with a felt tipped marker to add a bit more shading. So I'm pleased!

I did also paper piece her boots, and add a little bit of shading to them. The background papers are from the same paper pack, and wanted to keep a simple design. I did add some twine loops behind the die cut oval, and stamped the sentiment from a Unity stamp set.

Thank you for visiting, have a creative weekend!

Valentine Rose

I used a new stamp set called Paper Tattoos from Joy Clair on this card. Love that name! :) The set comes with a rose, heart and bird, and each have a banner that you can stamped words onto. The full alphabet also comes with this set!

I used the rose image first, probably because I have a rose bracelet tattoo on my wrist that I had done like 20 years ago :) I stamped this onto smooth watercolor paper, and used SU! dye inks in Strawberry Slush and Cherry cobbler to color it in with a small paint brush. The banner is colored with Crushed Curry.

After it dried, I stamped love, and added a heart from a Hero Arts set. I die cut it out with a Bo Bunny frame set, and backed it with a black brick embossed piece, then a black card base.

I just love this stamp set!! Thank you for stopping by!

More Blues

This card was inspired by a challenge at The Paper Shelter-Shades of Blues. I have used a Paper Shelter image called Christmas Carols. I've had this image for quite awhile now, but I've only used it in it's Christmas theme. I decided to color it a little differently for this blues theme. I'm still 'in practice' mode using darker colors. The camera has actually washed out the blues a bit, in real life they are darker.

I've used my Spectrum markers, and kept going over and over adding darker colors for all the shading. I think I'm afraid to use too much, then it would just all be the same color!! So by the time I was done with all the blues, I think it's alright for my first dark attempt.

The original image has the boy holding a carol book, but since I wanted a more Valentine theme, I punched a heart and glued it over the book. I did add some wink of stella to it and also the girls fur trim.

The background was stamped and sponged, and the sentiment comes from a hero arts clear stamp set.I also added a few blue rhinestones. I fiddled with some other embellishments, but ended up with just these.

Simply Thanks

I made this very quick and simple card yesterday following a sketch challenge at Splitcoast. The sketch showed a tall sentiment, and I knew I wanted a die cut piece, so I dug out my old Sizzix sizzlit for this. The star is from a framelit set.

I didn't do any stamping on this, but I did use a little ink around the edges of some of my new SU! Love Blossoms dsp. It was nice to make a card that didn't take me an hour(sometimes more!) to do!!

And it also reminded me of when I first started making cards. I only used die cuts, and no stamping. This sentiment is quite thin, so I had to use my Xyron sticker maker. Another tool that I used a lot back then, and hardly ever now. Makes me stop and think why I have such a large stash of stuff now!! I used to get by with just the basics!!

So if I had to shrink down my supplies, I would definitely keep my dies and paper punches!! They will never go 'out of style'! What supplies would you keep if you had to shrink down?!

Thanks so much for visiting me today!!

Snow Way!

I was prompted to make this card using the CAS on Sunday's challenge theme 'Winter'.

I used a Unity stamp kit called Snow Way!, by Susan Weckesser. The little snowman have a fun whimsy side! I colored it with various alcohol markers, and die cut it out. Then decided to keep the circle theme and added a few more. The focus is still on the snowman, layering the circles in this manner kind of draws you into him.

I did add a strip of washi tape to ground out the circles, and debated over the sentiment a bit, but decided in the end to just put it in the corner. I swiped the card base with white pigment ink to soften it's edges.

Girly Girl

I made this card a week or so ago, and forgot to share it on my blog. I made it for a sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. She's just too cute holding her teddy! And I'm still a sucker for stuffed animals! :)

She's colored with my various alcohol markers, and cut into a tag shape. The pink floral background is resist paper I got from SU! last year, and the small heart paper is SU! as well. The sentiment is from a Joy Clair stamp set. Some matching twine and ribbon added a few girly touches.

Flowers of Blu

Today's card was inspired by a few challenges, which are all listed below.

I've used a new to me Tilda image today, and colored her with various Spectrum Noir and Pro Markers. I fussy cut her out and put her on a Creative Memories heart cut out. I used two different flower punches and punched various colors, even stamped on a few first.

Started to layer my card together, then added a punched dark blue heart, and attached a Joy Clair stamped sentiment to it. Some of the larger flowers I have added small pearls to.

Here are all the challenges that I was inspired by:
The Paper Shelter-use punches and/or dies
Double 'D's' Challenge-Forget Me Not/add blues and flowers
Simon Says Stamp-Something New
Splitcoast Stampers-Sketch Challenge

Pink Sheep

I think these sheep look so cute colored in pinks and reds! :) I was inspired by the Unity Stamp Co.'s monthly challenge, which the theme is pink and red.

After stamping, I colored in this Itty Bitty stamp with various alcohol markers. I used an ink blending tool to create a little red bit of ground, and punched a small heart in red then covered it with glossy accents.

The layered background piece was stamped around the edge with a small rose stamp that I won from Unity.

I am sending this to Unity's monthly challenge, and also to Unity's weekly blog hop link up!

Happy New Year 2016!

Here's wishing you all a very Happy New Year!!

I made this shaker last week for a challenge at Splitcoast Stampers, and wanted to wait to share it here. I have sent this card off to my Mom, it's the only New Years card I made!

I used the Star framelits to create my shaker with festive gold glimmer paper. I filled it with punched silver accents and a few sequins. The bottom border was made with a star punched several times.

Hope you all have a great relaxing day! I am off to work, so no fun for me! :)
