Growing In Unity-Coloring Faces

For my final Growing In Unity week, I am sharing a full face image colored with pencils. This Unity kit is called Only Imagine. Isn't she adorable? Just look at those eyes! Unity has many 'Girl" images to choose from, and from various artists. You will not be disappointed!!

Like my other projects, she is inked with black MFT hybrid ink onto Crumb Cake card. Starting with light and moving to dark shading. And I don't think I've mentioned in my other posts this week, but when I color with these pencils, I use small circular motions, and a very light hand. The next layer is the same, but pressing down a little harder on the pencil. And this is repeated until I'm happy. Sometimes I will color over a section 4 or 5 times, but I like how you can control the amount of color. My alcohol marker coloring isn't always this easy :)

I dressed up her panel by adding a pretty die cut frame from Bo Bunny, and retired patterned paper from Stampin Up. The background panel was made by crumpling up a piece of crumb cake card, and lightly sponging over it with brown ink and gluing it down flat to a black card base. And I don't always add a sentiment to the front of cards, but the inside will always have one. In some cases, you just don't need one on the front :)

Thank you for visiting me this week, I have enjoyed sharing with you all. Be sure to visit the other GIU Gal Sandra, and see what she has shared!

I love your coloring technique! I'm not too good with alcohol markers either. But now that I've had tips from someone that is fantastic at coloring I can now try crayons with confidence. Thank you for sharing and I will be checking your blog every day even if today is the last day for the hop. You did a fantastic Blog Hop and I thank you very much for the step by step. Thank you for sharing Pam.

I love how the white frame just makes the whole card come together and really puts focus on the image (which is awesome BTW) ... Great card and thank you so much for the little lessons. I really like my Prisma color pencils and am always looking for tips and tricks for using them. (Hugs) Cara
