April Ippity Workshop projects
Here's what we'll be making at my workshop in April! The dates are, Sunday April 10th from 3-5p.m., and another Wed, April 13th from 6-8p.m. I'll be sending out an email too. I'm trying to keep the workshop limited to 8 people per day. I can help with directions with smaller groups for the girls who are still fairly new to stamping. So, we'll make an easel card, making our own background papers with stamps of course! A 'designer' pen with a cute flower topper attached to the cap, and a bookmark for all those great reads! Hope to see you then!

It's Grungy Monday Time!!
The start of our new Journey is here! Linda has continued on an adventure in Timland! Check our her blog here to join in! This week we are re-visiting Tim's 12 days of Christmas tags 2008. Check that tutorial here! After spritzing my background, I used weathered wood, and broken china DI over it. The bird image is an Ippity stamp, that I reversed Tim's directions. It is embossed with copper EP, then colored in with watercolor crayons. Looks pretty good! The word is cut from cardstock paper, and I stamped my own music score on some scrap. I even used a snap like Tim did, and it looks pretty cool! I had to die my safety pin with rust AI, and my feather with copper mixative. I also died my cream ribbon with broken china DI. And this is my first 12 days of Christmas tag ever! Although being not a xmas one. But still, it was fun, and plan on doing more now! Thank you for stopping by!
Random Redhead Challenge-Typewriters
Here is my entry for the challenge over at Gingersnap Creations. We are to use typewriters, and this was another freebie image. This ATC is going in the mail for a swap, so I wanted to get in the challenge first! I thought I would put a funny saying on it, because not too many young people these days have a clue what a typewriter is!! Click the link above to see all the other typewriter fun!

Coloring with Pencils
Here is my first attempt at coloring a child image. This is a digi stamp freebie I got somewhere here in blogland. My blogger friend Cheryl is always doing amazing work coloring with her Prisma pencils, and she inspired me to give it a try. Check her blog here to see her work. I've been coloring with pecils before, but just using Crayola colored pencils. They do not blend well at all! So I broke down and bought some Artist pencils, these are called Kimberly, by General. And they blend quite well. They are watercolor ones. I think it came out well for my first try, the only problem I had was when coloring, the ink from the printer wanted to bleed. So I had to be careful on the edges. Now I'm going to have to find some cute image stamps to use!! Thanks for looking in!

Gingersnap 3rd Annual Copper, Ginger, Rust
This is my first time entering in the Gingersnap Creations annual challenge. But I must say, that I love the color rust! So that is what I went with. I knew I wanted to use my Really Rust paper by SU. So I made a little purse using a cool technique with distress inks. I have looked for a video, or demo on it, but can't find one, so I'll just tell you! I covered my top note die cut with vintage photo ink. I really put a lot on there. Then I took a large background stamp, and spritzed it with water, not too much! Then I stamped the wet stamp into the ink. When you dry it, you get a really cool faux bleached look. Now when I got one piece done, I was pleased, and thought this stamp image gave a tooled leather look. How perfect, since I was making a purse! Then it reminded me of a purse I have, an old tooled leather one that I picked up at a garage sale. So I mimicked the stiching on mine, and darkened the edges with more di. Cool! The handle is made from May Arts ribbon folded in half. As I was making this a song came on the radio from ABBA(from the 70's!) Dancing Queen. It reminded me of Annette because she's been talking about her dance moves for the Annual Party over at the Gingers! So here's to you Annette, You can dance, you can jive, having the time of your life! you Dancing Queen! :) Check out the rest of the entries at the link above, and thanks for looking in!!

Unity Stamp Co. Challenge-Fashion Forward!
I am entering this month's challenge at the Unity Challenge Blog! It's a fashion forward theme, and this Unity dress form stamp fit's perfectly, and is so popular these days! I jazzed it up a bit by pleating some printed paper, and making my own 'skirt'. An A-line skirt is always flattering!! And added some seed beads for a necklace. The sewing pattern paper is from the Mod-Retro stack from DCWV. Again, perfect for this theme!! The sentiment is also from this set called Undeniably You. I added a Spellbinders label behind the sentiment to fancy it up a bit, and some May Arts ribbon that was left over from one of their challenges. I think it's quite cute, and need to check out what everyone else has done so far! Click the link above to see for yourself! Thanks for looking in!

H{IPPITY} HOP!!
I have entered in today's hop at the Ippity blog! Check their blog to see lots of great ideas using Ippity stamps!! I chose to do a layout for my husband. Yesterday was our 4th wedding Anniversary, so this is for him! I used 3 Ippity sets on this one, A Moment in Time, Love in Return, and Life's little Moments. These sets are excellent for scrapbooking, and also for cards. Click my link at the sidebar to see them! The only embellishment I used was some May Arts ribbon, and a border punch on the yellow October Afternoon paper, and the certainly celery paper! The rest was all stamped! Love it! Click the link above to join in on the hop! Thanks for stopping in!!

Ippity Photo Inspiration
This week's challenge is our photo inspiration. Check the Ippity blog here! I used my favorite Ippity stamp set, Now and Always for the background. I stamped with 4 colors of Stampin Up! ink. The sentiment is from the set Music of My Heart. I made a paper flower that I saw in the current Scrapbooks Etc. magazine. It's a punched border strip that you fold and glue to a punched circle. I used Helmar glue. My first try at one, the paper is a bit crumpled, spritzing with water may have helped! But it looks fine. There are lots more to see at the Ippity Splitcoast Stampers forum! Thanks for looking in!

Hobby Lobby Card Class
I'm filling in for my Aunt Laura's card class next Wed. and here are the cards you'll be making. Of course all the sentiments are optional, I'll bring different one's to choose from. The bird card was requested by Mary Jo, and it's stamped on sticky back canvas. I did another canvas card, which is the red flower one. It is inked with a TH flower die mask. The sympathy card is inked with DI, then I sprayed a rubber stamp with water, and stamped it into the ink. When you dry with a heat tool, you get this effect. Gotta love the DI inks! A manly birthday card, that I stapled to give it an industrial look. And the music note card is an any occasion. I'll be sending an email out to the girls from the classes. See you then!

Compendium of Curiosities #35
Here we are. At the end of a fabulous journey Linda has led us on! Design Details is the last technique in Tim's book, and the last challenge for us.(for now!) I encorporated different techniques in my final piece, and of course the 'details'! I will attach this to a canvas, and hang it up in my craft room to always be a reminder of the wonderful and talented blog friends I have made through Linda's blog, StudioL3. Thank you Linda so much! And thanks to everyone who has followed my blog through this fabulous journey! I can't wait for the next one to begin!

Ippity Color Challenge!
Here is a color challenge card I made for Ippity, at splitcoast stampers. The colors to use are pink, blue, green, and yellow. Perfect spring colors, although it's raining, cold, and dreary here in Ohio today. I used pink cardstock for the card, which started as an A10 size, but thought it was too long. So I cut it down to 7". The patterned papers are from Echo Park-Springtime collection. The Ippity stamp set I used is Now and Always. I love the flowers in this set. I stamped them twice, and cut them apart for layering. The glitter butterflies are Design Adhesives from Clearsnap. I have much neglected them lately, but they are really great to use. The glitter won't rub off from them at all. They are like a shaped glue dot. Anyway, that's my card for today, I still need to finish my CCC project! It's almost done! Thanks for stopping by!

Card-Lift!
The talented and creative Eva, who is on the design team for Ippity, and Creative Imaginations, made a beautiful card that I just had to card-lift! Click here to see her card and tutorial!! Mine is a little different, but I used her same layout, and Ippity stamps. You can see the full set of these stamps at her blog post, or click my link on the sidebar. Her card is done with black CS, while mine is blue, and I just inked the edges with Black Soot DI. The green part of the flower is a doily that she shows how to make. I think it's just gorgeous, and I thank Eva for sharing her work!!

Bring on the Bling!
This card I made for the Ippity Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. Anyone can join in, if your interested, click here to go to their forum! I just got a Martha Stewart around the page punch, and had to use it. I like the design on this one! The Ippity stamps I used are from Now and Always, and How you Doin sets. I love the flower stamps, like I did here, you stamp them twice, then cut and layer. The paper is from Echo Park-Springtime collection, that I won on their facebook page! I went a little crazy with the glitter! I bought a large pack of small bottles of glitter in like 20 colors, so I had to use them! The flowers looked plain once I glittered the oval, so they had to have some bling to!! I think it's pretty and girly, and I'm sure it will make someone smile! Thanks for looking in on my glittery card!
CCC #34-One More Left!!
Yes, there is one week left at Linda's Studio L3 blog, for the Compendium of Curiosity Challenge. We are all in anticipation of the next Journey of crafting that she'll take us through! I was lucky to come across her blog last year shortly after I started blogging, and it's been a real treat for me! Click here to get in on the fun! This week we are doing Dimensional Collage Fragments, and I love it! My favorite thing to do with fragments!! And I had just recently bought an old book at the Goodwill store perfect for this! I used Sizzix and Qickutz dies for some of the elements. The sentiments are tiny Stampin Up! stamps. I made it into a keychain to give to a friend who is moving away. So if she reads this post, she'll have a heads up!! Thanks for stopping in, and visit StudioL3 for lots of fun, and great blogging friends!
