I found this cute coloring book image online, and printed it off to color. I decided to see how well I could color with Stampin' Write markers only. These are a double tipped dye ink marker, and I didn't use the blender pen at all.
I used three shades of each color. For the blues I've used Midnight Muse, Bordering Blue, and Baja Breeze. The greens I've used Garden Green, Gumball Green and Certainly Celery. And for the reds I used Raspberry Ripple, Rich Razzleberry and Primrose Petals. Almost forgot the hat! For that I only used two colors, Crushed Curry and Summer Starfruit.
I'm very pleased how this turned out. I did the shading the same as I would with alcohol markers, starting from light to dark. With these dye ink markers, you can create a darker shade using the same marker. If you just go over it again, it creates a darker shade. Like the soles of the boots. I only used the Going Gray marker on those. So, these inexpensive markers are a great way for beginners to start in my opinion. Tombow also makes the same double tipped markers, but in their own colors.
The card stock I used is Stampin' Up!'s whisper white. It has an ultra smooth surface which is perfect for coloring with markers, I love it, and it's the only white card I buy.
So that's my experience coloring with dye markers, if you have some, maybe you'll try this too. Thank you for visiting!
