Journal Page Using Die Cuts

I was organizing my dies yesterday, putting them in plastic sleeves to fit into the holders I made. Anyway, I realized that many of these dies have not been used for a long, long time. So today, I decided to make a journal page using only die cuts. No stamps, and no punches.

I went through and selected the dies I wanted to use. Some are thick dies, and others are thin. I even broke out my Sizzix Sidekick. That machine used to get quite the workout.

To flashback in time, when I first started paper crafting, I only had foam stamps that I used acrylic paint on, and my dies. A lot of my creations used dies. I do still have 10 alphabet die sets!! And over the years I pretty much switched over to stamps and paper punches. But while I was making this page, I realized that I missed rolling those dies through the machines!!

Now onto my page! I arranged the die cuts where I wanted them, then thought what to do for the background. Since I didn't want any stamping, I went with heat embossing. I used versamark ink, and dabbed the page and used blue and green embossing powder. I think it came out great!!

Then I just glued down all my pieces. Even the tiny, tiny letters that spell out summer. Those are 1/4" die cut letters!! I hope they actually stay stuck to the page, as they were wanting to stick to my fingers instead :)

Thank you for having a look at my die cut page! I think I will have to play with more of my dies now!
